We highly recommend the Caledon Hotel and Spa for a truly wonderful experience - great service, good food, beautiful accommodation and a place to make memories. The views and magnificent setting add to the experience. Although the Blue Crane restuarant staff could do with some smiles and learn to communicate with their patrons, the overall experience is still marvelous!

This is definitely a venue for the "must-return" list. We'll be back!

This was a good venue for my children because of the hot springs and many other children for them to play with. Hidden costs are the arcade! The hotel was fine but the spa was disappointing. My friend and I had massages. We very much felt like we had just had good back rubs. The therapists were not focussed you could tell they would rather be a million other places!

Stopped over to see the Spa which has been built on a site I first visited 20 years ago, whow what a difference, nice that they have kept the original baths as a memory of the past. Very nice room but unfortunately bad smell of paint due to renovations, Evening meal in the Blue Crane a bit of a rip off, hamburgers at half price at restuarants in casino area, waiters could be a bit more friendly as well. Otherwise lovely facilities to enjoy a relaxing stay and de stress.
Little expensive for average South African pensioner as no discount given

My mum and I checked in here for two nights and within 30 mins of arriving changed our minds to a four night stay.

We had spent several long days driving and when we found the Calendon Hotel Casino and Spa in one of the guide books phoned a head and made a two night reservation. The rooms were on a special during March 850 south african rand, per room night including breakfast. (Approx £63 per night for the two of us).

The Casino, Da Vinci (italian resturant) and The Black Sheep (Resturant) are located ins in a seperate building, linked with a walk way between the hotel. The pool, Spa, sauna, steam roomm, grounds and mineral pools are all georgous. Robes and towels are available for 50 sar which is non-refundable, but you can change your robes and towels as often as you like during your entire stay.

The staff were all really lovely and helpful, at check-in I asked if a suite was availble and it was for the same price. The Suite was huge there was lounge which included a dinning area and kitchenette and a seperate bedroom. The bathroom was one end of the bedroom wtih a huge corner bath and large shower. loads of towels and toiletries.

Other rooms available were the standard and delux. The delux were on the ground floor and lead out to a patio area and the pool.

A buffet breakfast (and evening meal for 115 sar) are served in the Blue Crane Resturant located within the hotel building. The food was good and lots of choices.

We enjoyed the several hours of pampering in the Spa as the prices were good, especially compared to London!

This Hotel, Casino and Spa is located 110kms from Cape Town and is really worth a visit for a few days of rest and relaxation.

We stayed mid-week and were advised that weekends get very very busy with families! Spa treatments should be booked in advance or as soon as you arrive.

The town of Caledon is just a couple of minutes drive, but it is a small town with not a lot going on. A few shops and Gam Cafe which is good for Coffee and Internet Accesss.

This hotel has free wi-fi, but no internet access if you dont have your own computer!

We loved our stay and look forward to a return visit.

PS: Special Thanks to Pamela and Piet on the Front Desk for all their help in making our visit so special -x-
