“Fabulous meal and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 1, 2012

We visited the restaurant/pub 3 times in total; as a preliminary group of 8 to explore the menu, food and service. We were all delighted....fussy kids, vegetarians, meat lovers, etc. We booked for 15 people the following night for a 70th birthday celebration. Everyone agreed that the choice and quality of food were outstanding. We returned again to the Three Tuns a few days later for lunch, for many reasons. The pub is clean, bright and airy. There is a lovely outside area where we could relax with the dog. Lovely staff too!

We had a pre-dinner drink at this pub before moving over to The Golden Lion for our evening meal. Had we been staying in Osmotherley for 2 nights, I think the restaurant here would have been worth a try. The locals and bar staff were friendly and there was an agreeable atmosphere in the pub. The tables outside on the street manage to retain the last of the setting sun and the warmth of it reflects back from the exterior walls of the pub. There is also a garden at the back but, as we were so comfortable at the front, we didn't visit it. To accompany our drink we had a very tasty sharing platter of olives, home made bread and Italian cheese. The restaurant seemed to be very popular and had an Italian theme.

We've just spent 10 days camping in Osmotherley and found this lovely pub which was a great place to have our evening meals. We ate here most nights and every single meal was fantastic, using good quality ingredients and very very tasty! Very generous portions too. All the staff were friendly and couldn't have been nicer to us, chatting about our holiday and recommending places to visit. We'd definitely come back again and would recommend this place to anyone! Thanks again everyone at the Three Tuns - we'll be back!

It was an unusually warm sunny day in April when we happened to be near Osmotherley at lunch time. We had a list of dog friendly pubs in the area and chose the Three Tuns.

As it was sunny and warm we walked through the pub (which had a nice modern décor) to sit in the beer garden at the back. The beer garden was very pretty, peaceful and a comfortable place to sit - we felt cut off from the rest of the world.

While we only had soup and sandwiches, they were well presented, tasty (nice and fresh), and included some locally sourced ingredients.

There were only 3 different beers on tap. The 2 we sampled were very well chosen for the time of year, well kept and delicious.

We were made to feel welcome even though we were camping and not as smartly dressed as the other diners. The meal, which we ate in the bar was delicious. My husband and I rated it the best steak and ale pie we'd ever had!. Service excellent and friendly, decor tasteful and traditional yet contemporary. Can't wait to go back next time we're in Osmotherley.
