First time I've stayed here and I would definitely go back. The rooms are stylish and clean, although above the pub there was very little noise. Loved the walk in shower! Some great beers on offer and at £2 for a large bowl of chips we were able to create a perfect post walk snack. Dinner was very good as usual.

Osmotherley is a lovely location for visitong the north York moors, easily accessible, and within driving distance of all the sights. The golden lion was a comfortable base for a few nights stay, with modern and well maintained rooms. We had dinner all 3 nights, as we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the bar and wide range of options to eat. A special commendation should go the service, which was friendly, helpful and very well informed. A highly recommended choice at great value for money.

Stayed at the Golden Lion as a birthday treat. Fabulous room with super comfortable bed and lovely ensuite. Had a lovely meal in the bar which was very busy - obviously a very popular place to visit! Great ambience with the room being lit by candlelight and real fires, very quaint. Friendly attentive staff. Certainly hope to go back very soon.

We stayed overnight, arrived in the afternoon and enjoyed sitting outside with a beer. Our table was booked for dinner - it is very busy! We nipped across the road for a quick pre dinner drink in the 2 other pubs. Food was excellent, we had starters (trio of deep fried cheese, and pigeon, black pudding and apple salad) and fabulous main dishes (Lamb with mash and veg and home made chicken kiev, salad and chips) and puddings (warm orange cake and chocolate tarte).Total bill including accomodation was £160 - we thought it was really good value and will definitely be going again!

Room Tip: There are 5 rooms and all of them are very nice, lovely shower rooms, big comfortable beds and all e...

A fantastic place in a fantastic location. Plenty of other reviews attest to quality of restaurant. I have used the accommodation several times too and its quality is first class. My stays have included busy weekends with no disturbance up in the bedrooms- bedrooms are away from bar/dining area. Hard to beat for great walking from the village, great eating/drinking and good sleeping! Don't hesitate- go enjoy!

Room Tip: All rooms have lovely large showers (no bath- at least the rooms I have been in). A couple of the be...

Visited with eleven members of my family including a three year old who was made welcome.a good choice of beers was available as we had to wait for our table.a mixture of locals and diners made for a busy environment. The Sunday lunch for the main course was £12.95,starters extra. The food was very nice and we were not rushed at all. The only downside is parking as this is a nightmare.
