“Basic pub grub”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

Found it to be a friendly place for a bite and a pint.

Service was fine just the meal was edible but a bit lacking, if you want a pint and a nibble after a walk then you will be made welcome

We were and the dog was, which is always a bonus

Will probably try the lion next, i know they used to do decent grub but i will go back if not as friendly with the dog

“Beautiful Home Made Food”
Reviewed July 25, 2013

A group of us (13) turned up at lunchtime yesterday without booking for lunch. We all ordered different meals and were asked if we would like our meals all brought out at the same time or individually, we chose the latter. I had the Lasagne and it was obviously home made and delicious full of meat and certainly not the slimey dish you sometimes get in pubs. The chips were delicious fresh and tasty. The salad was fresh and crisp. No unopenable condiments as they were served up in dishes. We were all impressed with the quality of our meals. The staff were friendly and helpful not at all fazed by the sudden on slaught of customers. Thanks to the Queen Catherine for a delightful lunch.

“Evening meal”
Reviewed July 23, 2013

Good but I think we were forgotten or they could not deal with a sudden influx and larger group mid week. this was the 2nd night and the food we had seen being served to others the day before was not up to the same standard when we ordred

“Typical village pub.”
Reviewed July 20, 2013

Ate here on our first evening in Osmotherley--food is uninspired "pub grub" but acceptable and filling and reasonably priced so generally O.K.
Some of the staff seemed to have had a humour by-pass, not very smiley!

“Home made food at its Best”
Reviewed June 6, 2013

Four of us had an excellent, well presented, home cooked meal. We each had something different and it was great value for money. We look forward to visiting again quite soon.
