Spent a few days here at Tha Khao in late June. We were the only ones there.
The staff are low key and not pushy. Great Thai food in their kitchen which was open whenever we wanted.
The accomodations were simple and the beds pretty hard, but they had good fans.
The view is great and at low tide you can go out on the sand flat that goes out pretty far.
The whole island is very genuine and the people not at all pushy like they are in other touristy parts of Southern Thailand. No one asks for passports and the people are genuinely friendly.
Again, the food was really Thai and we ate well. Great place for a first stop before going to a luxury place.
