“Lovely quiet resort with great food”
Reviewed March 24, 2014 via mobile

We stayed six nights in an AC bungalow (1800 baht per night). The bungalow was clean, spacious with good AC, a fridge and a view of the sea & beautiful karst scenery. The lady who runs the resort is really helpful and friendly, and the food was among the best Thai food we'd had (having spent several months in Thailand, this is high praise indeed). You'll need a scooter to get around, but it's very safe on Koh Yao Noi, and currently if you stay 3 nights or more, the resort provides you with a scooter as part of the room price. Highly recommended for a friendly, relaxing stay on this beautiful island.

We arrived at Suntisook in real need of some r & r. We stayed for 2 weeks & didn't want to leave. Were very well looked after by the lovely family. The best home cooked food on the island try the fish in garlic & pepper, chicken wings, papaya salad & my favourite the curry galangal coconut soup with prawn. You won't be disappointed. Close to yoga centre, rock climbing, small private beaches. Our highlight was just (all 3 of us) riding around the island by scooter. Roads v good condition & not much traffic. All in all a perfect stay. We will definitely be back to Suntisook!

I just got back home from my amazingly wonderful stay on Ko Yao Noi this past week. The island itself was just what we were looking for, relaxed and idyllic! The main reason for our wonderful time was the wonderful family run resort: Suntisook! The photos don't do it justice! It's extremely affordable for what you get, the owners are very accommodating and have perpetual smiles on their faces. They gave upgraded us to a bigger bungalow upon arrival for no charge and allowed us to use all their additional amenities that you don't get at other budget friendly places without ripping us off! Hot water showers, big beds, your own porch overlooking the ocean with hammocks. As with any bungalow non 5 start resort you'll see wildlife out and about but nothing you can't deal with and it truly is clean and comfy! The food in their restaurant was so delicious and we ate at least one meal a day there-- always satisfied. Any question or problem we had they immediately attended to. I've stayed at much pricier places that couldn't hold a candle to Suntisook! If you're an easy going traveler who appreciates a good deal, this is the place for you! It's a great location close to the pier in the northeast of the island, but the island is small enough it's very easy to get to and everyone seemed to know the place.

If you are looking for a peaceful bungalow accommodation with a friendly service, excellent food and amazing seaview (at least from our bungalow), then this family run resort is your choice. They also rent scooters (which are handy to explore the island) and kayaks. Still missing those evenings lying on hammock, sipping beer and listening jungle to awake to the night.

This small and quiet resort is located on the East coast of Koh Yao Noi and offers a beautiful view over the Pakoh islands. The local beach is not good for swimming when the tide is low, but there are many easily reachable alternatives. What makes Suntisook's position great is its proximity with important attractions, such as: the Mountain Shop (an excellent place for both beginners and accomplished climbers, be sure to check it out for a fun and safe rock climbing experience), La luna restaurant (offering pizza cooked in a wood oven, tasty homemade pasta, and fine cocktails), and the National Lodge (organizing daily drop-in yoga courses).

We spent five nights in an air-conditioned bungalow. It wasn't extremely clean, however it was big and functional. An effective mosquito net was in place to protect against insects, spiders, and other animals (such as the many screaming geckos!). Daily water in the fridge and Wi-Fi were provided free of charge.

The restaurant was very good. It didn't serve beer, but it was permitted to bring your own drinks. The staff was really nice and helpful and we were very satisfied with their service.

Since we booked through an agency, however, our stay was quite expensive. I strongly recommend to contact the owners directly in order to secure the best rates. Don't be discouraged if they don't reply immediately to your email (in our case it took one month to obtain a response) and consider contacting them by telephone. Because of the trouble we encountered while booking, the owners kindly offered us a free motorbike for the full length of our stay: we gladly accepted, knowing that a motorbike is mandatory to explore the island.

We had a great time at Suntisook and on Koh Yao Noi in general. I'd recommend this place for a few relaxing days after partying on Phuket, Koh Phi Phi, or other more popular destinations.

Lying on the hammock outside our bungalow, listening to the wildlife and the odd motorbike passing by, was paradise.

The owners are really friendly, the food is delicious (best on the island), and renting bicycles, kayaks and motorbikes is cheap.
I'd love to be back there right now.
