Book ahead to get a table with amazing view to lake Balaton and the wineyards.Amazing food and service, we really liked the cheeseplate.Balazs was our waiter who recommened wines for us and did the entire 6 wine tasting along with stories about winemaking and about the Laposa family.Very nice place, good atmosphere, professional 5 star service!
We stopped at Laposa to sample some of their wines. It is a treat not to be missed. While we sipped some very good wines and had the meat and cheese plates , which are delicious and all locally sourced, we had a stunning view over the landscape to the Balaton.
Take a detour and go. You wont be sorry.
What stunning views! It was a bit of a walk to reach the top - about 15-20 minutes from the station at a steady pace. But the views and wine were definitely worth it. Myself and my friend ordered the 9 wine tasting menu which was incredible value and they tasted delicious/ very refreshing on a hot day. We ended up buying a bottle of our favourite wine afterwards as well as another glass before we left!
There was also a great menu - you could order a cheese or meat platter with bread amongst other things. Perfect accompaniments! It’s also a great place for a photo shoot, with enviable views of Lake Balaton. There was even a newly wedded bride there with her groom having a peaceful drink (along with a photographer!) The restaurant also stayed open past its closing time as it was so busy.
My only criticism would be the waiter - while he was very knowledgable about every wine he served, he seemed mildly irritated by the amount of questions we were asking. But this didn’t affect our experience!
I would definitely recommend visiting here - just make sure that you book in advance by e-mail or telephone! It’s very popular...and rightly so!
I think this was a the best decision to start the wine tasting weekend and finish the weekdays having great wine and finger foods.
We tried several mainly white wine. We also ordered a gourmet plate that was such an incredible experience. I loved the way how they served it and also the bread that came with it. It is a must try 😉
At last but not least the view is fabulous. Go there during sunset. It will be an unforgettable experience.
Make sure you have a reservation way before. It is a popular place.
Went there with a larger group of friends for wine tasting. We had a few young kids with us, who, as expected did make a bit of noise. On of the waiters got annoyed and started to complain to us. This i think is unacceptable given it was 5pm and we were had only 10 other guest in the whole vineyard. A little bit of openness and less snobbism could help this place.
We went two days in a row. On the first day we had the wine tasting accompanied by their excellent gourmet and cheese plates. We undertook the “six wine” tasting with the additional two special wines. The next day after climbing the Badacsony hill in blazing heat, we returned- with our dogs - for more wine and cheese to reinvigorate ourselves. The service was friendly and knowledgeable on both days. The place does get busy so do book in advance to avoid disappointment.
