“A good place to stay!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2013

We stayed just one night and were pleased the the cleanliness and comfort of the hotel - the bedrooms were small, but very well equipped with desk, plugs, wifi, mirrors, etc, The double bed, however, was extremely large and comfortable and it was nice to have a separate toilet - as well as a good bath/shower - and we had a balcony which had it been summer would have been great. The only problems were that my husband and I both had laptops and we were only allowed to log one of them on to the wifi. Also the room was poorly lit - so reading was a problem - the bathroom was brilliantly lit however! Soissons is a very pleasant town and the hotel was an easy walk from the centre and in an attractive area. The only other problem we had was that we were there on Sunday night and there was only a very limited menu in operation - but the food, while not very exciting, was perfectly adequate. While this is far from a cosy family run hotel and is obviously set up for business travellers as well as tourists - we would be happy to stay there again - as indeed we hope to when visiting my grandfather's grave on the centenary of his death in 2014. Soissons is an excellent place to stay if you are interested in WWI and the Retreat from Mons, or the Battles of the Marne, and the Aisne.

My wife and another couple stayed 1 night at this hotel. It is a 3 star hotel that is very near 4 star rating. Rooms are bright, modern and clean. There is a small pool (with counter current for swimming), sauna, fitness equipment. Underground parking plentiful and free. There is also a restaurant but we ate elsewhere.

cant complain - lovely service and hotel. the only thing I can say is that it is a typical quality chain - you wont be disappointed if this is what you are used to. Every time I have stayed the showers have impressed - walk in with great pressure

Room Tip: executive rooms not worth the extra

We stayed just the 1 night while travelling down France. The underground car park was very good and free. Location was within walking distance to Soissons. The room was a good size as was the bathroom which were clean & tidy. We eat in the restaurant and had a very good meal. Did not have the breakfast.

As regular visitors to Soissons, we keep coming back to this hotel. It is a good, recent business-type hotel. Rooms are modern, clean, soberly designed, well-equipped (top floor/terrace/view over St. Jean des Vignes are best). Missing: no minibar, no extra pillow, no iron+board. Wi-fi is free, but erratic (keeps disconnecting). Efficient staff at front desk. Large parking facility. Never tried pool/gym but good to know they're here. One weak point: the restaurant. Although trying to be elegant and gastro-ish, it is indeed pretentious, pricey and not very good. Kitchen noises are a pain. One great dessert though: the Vacherin à la Châtaigne.

Lovely modern hotel. Beautiful building. Rooms clean and modern, a little small but for 1 night that doesn't really matter. Nice restaurant with friendly staff. Great pool and sauna. Opposite the most fantastic Abbey of Saint-Jean des Vignes.

This was the second time we stayed at this hotel. We had a special 'forfait deux hotels' package this time around, organized via the excellent nearby Hotel du Golf de l'Ailette. The package amounted to 130 euros per night, inclusive of a 3-course day menu dinner and breakfast. This presents truly excellent value, as the hotel and especially food are normally expensive (possibly overpriced). With a discount the hotel can make for a very pleasant stay. The hotel is quite new, the staff are pleasant, parking is convenient, the restaurant is excellent, and the accommodation has its hick-ups but is generally comfortable. Soissons is a nice little town and well-positioned for the sights in the area. Our stay did not start well this time. Although the reception was aware of our reservation, they did not know about the package and tried to charge a much higher price. Fortunately they were gracious about it and the price was eventually resolved. Our room - a standard double - looked very nice and was spotless. Rooms are on the small side but with most modern comforts. There is no air conditioning and a general lack of ventilation, making for a very hot room when the sun is out. Perhaps worth the expense of an executive room with airco if you are staying during a heatwave. As the other reviews say, there is no light in the shower and the bathroom floods easily, but this did not bother us too much. We would have preferred to have the room serviced in the morning and not at the end of the afternoon, but perhaps this depends on where your room is situated. The common areas are nicely decorated though somehow not inviting. This makes it a little difficult to relax. For us, the hotel's redeeming feature is its restaurant. The food is imaginative and delicious. This was true on our first visit and true again on our second. We had a leisurely dinner outside this time, which added to the experience. The breakfast offerings are limited, but there is plenty for a good start to the day. Proper baguette, rather than the little breads also served with dinner, would be a cheap and significant enhancement. On a final note, we discovered that there is a large Cora supermarket only a 2-minute drive away. Very convenient for stocking up on French delights to take home.

Room Tip: Rooms within the same price bracket are very similar.
