“Best Value Stay In and Around Kawarthas and Muskoka”
Reviewed November 28, 2013

We had a very good stay at the Knight's Inn in Lindsay. We used it as a staging point to go to a show at Casino Rama (about 40 mins away) and it suited perfectly. The property is about 3-4 km south of Highway 7 and Lindsay proper, but not too far that it will cause any problems. The motel staff was very attentive and friendly, and our room on the ground level was very clean and tidy.

This is the most economical property in the region, and has a great location from which to stage your other activities. Quiet, clean and comfortable. What more could you ask for???

Room Tip: Pick a ground floor room so you can easily enter and exit!

This was a really pleasant stay at this Knights Inn. Stayed two nights and had a very comfy sleep in so nicely clean room.Breakfast was nicely set up in a small room, had tea coffee bagels and many choices for nice start of your day. 5km out of town but nice and quiet. Office staff was very friendly and both nights room was cleaned nicely and towels were changed without asking. Will surely come and stay here again on my next family visit.

Room Tip: King exicutive room with fireplace

Pros:
The beds were clean and comfortable.
The bathroom was clean.
It was very quiet even though it was fully booked.
The carpet was fairly new and had no strange smells.
The room was larger than average with lots of table space for luggage and stuff.
This is an older motel but the owners seem to be making improvements to make it more comfortable for their guests.

Cons: The The sink in bathroom was rusty and had holes through the enamel.
The TV would not respond to the remote once in a while.
The cardlock worked intermittently.
The set up for the continental breakfast was too crowded. The coffee was stuck in the corner with the toaster and bagels so you had to wait longer to get food or coffee. They should add a couple more toasters and space them out along the wall, away from the coffee, so more people could help themselves at the same time.

These are minor things and would not keep us from coming back.
We booked this motel because there were no vacancies anywhere this particular weekend in Peterborough, but if ever in the area again we would look for something a little more updated with an indoor pool.

The owners/managers greet you as though you are family. very clean, all the essentials and a good wholesome continental breakfast.Located close to Lindsay, rates were very reasonable. We were attending a friends wedding and the motel was located directly across from the reception venue. Anything we requested was provided without any question. We found the landscaping was very nice and motel very well taken care of and obviously pride in ownership and management.

The photos of the inn suggest a well-maintained two storey inn but in person the experience is markedly different.

Off a secondary highway, nestled between light industry buildings, through some strangely opulent gates sits the tired hotel. Still, the bountiful planters of bright flowers suggested that we might still be delightfully surprised - until we saw the room.

Though the staff was lovely and the room was very clean, EVERYTHING in the room was worn out and cobbled together. I wasn't expecting a palace, however an AC unit that was powerful enough to cool a room in 7 hours would have been great amidst the heat wave. The pillows were lumpy (mangled in the wash) the double beds were concave and worn out. The lamp was falling apart. The bathroom light was wired to a light in the room meaning whenever one person used the washroom at night, the other would be woken. This hotel would be no bargain at $60/night but at $115/night it was atrocious.

When I complained about the mouse that kept me awake at night by making crinkling noises in a potatoe chip bag as he went in and out to snack, the owner's wife said that she was surprised because they didn't have a problem with mice. However, after speaking with her further I discovered that she used to have mouse traps in every room but took them out after quests complained. She said she had lots of mouse traps. There are two hotels very close by. Do not stay at this hotel. They owners are not oriented towards customer service.

Room Tip: Go to another hotel if you want a good room.

Thanks John for letting us know about the mice problem. A couple of days later after you checked out we caught the small mice and disposed of it. I am sorry that you had an unfortunate experience with us. I hope you will reconsider us in the near future and give us a chance to redeem our selves.

These are the things that made me enjoy my stay at this hotel, but my warmest congratulations to the hotel for their choice of personnel. They know how to really make you feel at home, and if you need anything it is like asking a family member. Congratulations from the heart, you were fantastic...........during my hotel stay I found quite area , close to Lindsay town, comfortable, cozy and warmth welcome, wide area for children to play. I would definitely like to stay again at the same place during my trip toward Lindsay...!!!
