Had lunch here on the way to Kamloops on the old highway.

We got here too late for the dining room so we ate in the saloon. It's got a TON of character and the staff were very friendly. The food was quite good, the portions large, and the prices reasonable.

The only criticism I have is that the menu was a bit limited. There were tacos but they were 'pulled beef tongue' which I wasn't quite brave enough to try.

We checked out the dining room lunch and dinner menus and they looked great. We would definitely give this another go.

Just slightly off the beaten path, about 15 minutes from Merritt, I stayed at the Quilchena Hotel. It was hot hot hot with no ac, but amazing just the same. The rooms are quaint and old fashioned style, not 1980's old fashioned, more like 1880's style which I thought was really unique and fun! The entrance ways are very cool and the bar even has gun hole marks from loooong ago with a pretty neat theory of where and when they happened. Worth checking out for sure

We booked rooms at the Quilchena Hotel to introduce family visiting from England to an interesting and historical place. We made the mistake of booking dinner in the hotel restaurant. There were six of us and not one of our dinners came to the table in the way it had been ordered, including three of us who ordered the daily special but still, the plates arrived with a mixup of risotto or potatoes. One of our group had to wait 15 minutes for his meal after the rest of us had been served. In an embarrassing twist of fate, the woman who wanted to treat us had to send her plate back three times before it arrived with the correct food on it. One of the teens never did get his pop drink. The other teen received a different order but by that time, she was so hungry she insisted she wanted to keep it. The restaurant was out of the wine we initially picked from the menu then they could only find two wine glasses when four were needed for the table. It was a fiasco. Bah humbug. The staff was very nice but completely incompetent.

Good food in the bar, the formal restaurant is very good too, perhaps a little expensve but well worth it.

We mostly ate in the bar but their steak sandwich was wonderful and I seriously loved their nachos! Oh and best Caesar drinks I have ever had!
