Stayed at the First World Hotel for 2 nights in Jan '13. The location is the biggest plus, specially for families with small kids. Close to the indoor & outdoor theme parks, can go back to the room if the kids are very tired or sleepy. Otherwise average accomodation with great scenic view of foggy, misty mountains. Basic amenities....no room service, no mini bar either. The biggest hotel in the world!!

Ideal for short term vacation, 2 - 3 nights. We spent 4 nights, but nothing much to cover. had to wait to checkin around 2 - 3 hours, I think due to season. There are 30+ checking counters. Over 6000 rooms. Everything was clean and as perfect as I could possibly wish, perfect room service. Location is very convenient.

Room Tip: Ask for a mountain view room or Theme park view, Theme park view is little bit noisy.

I would like to share my experience at this hotel during my stay recently. I would agree with some other reviewer who said that this hotel is not more than a budget hotel. You can't expect much with the price you pay. May be it just because this hotel is located on top of the highland, surrounded by a huge theme park and next to a famous casino. Other than that, it is nothing. Let me start with d good side first. For check in process, it is quite efficent because we already paid our room through online. So we don't need to que with d others. The staffs are quite helpful but not so friendly (may b becuase that time was at peak season). We booked a deluxe room facing the theme park. The room is small, nothing to shout out because the interior is lesser than normal hotel but its clean. Other than that nothing much to share. No complimentary bottled drink water but there is water dispenser provided (you need to bring your own bottle). The food is damn expensive where you must ready to buy fried banana (pisang goreng) three pieces for RM6.

At night i can't open up my window to enjoy the cold breeze on top of the mountain because sound from the generator so annoying. To me it is well located & you can enjoy yourself at the theme park. But if you plan to relax in d room, this is definitely a 'no' hotel. Just my two cents worth of opinion. Bye...

Have been to First World Hotel,Genting Highlands, the cool climate and the very efficient team of dedicated staffs just makes my stay there so very comfortable. With over 6,000 rooms,it is a mamoth task to keep things running in perfection, yet, the staffs there saw to it that nothing was wanting the minute I steped into the room. Everything was clean and as perfect as I could possibly wish, though the TVs are a bit of the old age kind, and some of the views are actually looking into the windows of the next opposite rooms...

Room Tip: Corner rooms,(at the far end of each floors are the best, got more windows and can see the sun,all ot...

It's pretty far walking distance from the sky train station, we had to walk for about 20 - 30 minutes until we arrived at the hotel's lobby. When we got there, we stood in line to the registration desk for about 5 minutes and got a check in card (we booked the hotel long before we went there from iHoliday - www.rwgenting.com). After that, we went to the check-in kiosk and within less than 5 minutes, we already checked-in. But there was a little problem, though. When we got into our room, apparently they gave us a twin bed room, which I actually booked a double bed room, so we went back to the lobby and had to wait for about 30 minutes to process the room switching.

But anyway, after we got what we wanted, it's really satisfying. The room was big, neat and clean and everything worked just fine. The bed was quite comfortable. The view was great from the window, we can see the cliffs with the fog and everything. The room temperature was nice, quite chilly but not so cold at night. We could take as much water as we want since they had a water dispenser near our room. And I didn't have to go outside the hotel to smoke since they allowed people to smoke in the corridor. Down from the hotel there was a mall and a casino we could visit, so after we got tired of shopping and gambling, we didn't have to walk very far or get a bus or a monorail to go back to our room. The check out process was also as easy as the check in, it only took less than 5 minutes to check out using the check out kiosk.

Love this hotel, definitely gonna come back whenever I come to Genting again.
