Booked standard room at First world and stayed here for a night. The check in was hassle free as a lot of self check in kiosk available. The room was quit small but as I mention it's a standard room.. So I don't expect much. Only thing dissapoint me is the bathroom and toilet was very small. If you are planning a family holiday standard room is not a good choice. The best thing about this hotel is you can find almost anything here and it's the biggest hotel in genting. From casino to indoor theme park this place have it all.. Overall I was happy and statisfied with my stay at First World

We got a booking at the Genting Highlands in a Malaysia Tour for my family – hubby and my parents for a period of 5 days and 4 nights. Malaysiawonder.com arranged a good tour at affordable prices for KL & Highlands. The First World Hotel was our abode during the stay and located in a small hill in Malaysia and the locality is developed by Genting Group.

The resort is situated on the mountain peak of the famous Titiwangsa Mountains and has a cool and pleasant climate throughout the year. Moreover having a maximum elevation of about 6,100 ft, the rooms on offer provide a glimpse of the border region between the states of Pahang and Selangor. Ask for a valley view room as they are few in the resort. Because of travel operator’s negotiations with the hotel, we got a great room; else as we checked out the next day we would have got rooms positioned to the back of other guest’s rooms.

The lobby area is almost uniformly always busy but manual checking is minimized and automated entry via machines make the waiting time minimal. Besides the lobby area is well furnished with various magazines, LED TVs and so you won’t be bored waiting.

We got an executive room in the southern wing of the 2nd building. The room was around 550 sq ft in area and had all amenities. There was no need of A/C given the cool climes of Genting and especially in the evenings you will enjoy sitting in the balcony, gazing at the never ending greenery and sipping those cups of hot tea and coffee which the house keeping guys deliver in a jiffy.

Thus the place is highly recommended for those who like visiting hill stations as whether you stay indoors or move outdoor you are bound to have a great experience.

There are already so many reviews on this hotel, just adding mine anyway. Booked a deluxe room there for 1 night, it's a 'luxury' compared to anyone who has ever stayed in a standard room, with 2 separate bathrooms, 1for wc and the other for bathing. For a person who has a big frame, you know what I mean, it's pathetically small with only little elbow room, hence we would not want to stay in there longer than necessary. This time we got a room facing the theme park, noisy but bearable. Finally they upgraded the TV to a flat screen and attached it to the wall freeing precious space on the poor little dresser that once stood the "almighty" 14in box TV. No wardrobe, only a very simple shelf with a few hangers. we are confined to the bed as the room is so small and has not much space to move about. Well, this is really one to stay when budget is tight, at least for us.

Room Tip: Choose a deluxe room if possible!

The first world hotel is a value for money hotel.the biggest problem I faced was for checking in u need to take a token number there are thousands of tourists out there sitting waiting for there turns to come. The room deal was really nice n pls try to get the valley side facing room they really great. If u open the windows the clouds will come in its really romantic. Otherwise there is nothing all room service because its not possible for a hotel with the maximum no of rooms in malaysia to cater to everyone's personal needs so 1 needs to carry something to eat n drink if required. Otherwise the indoor theme park is at ur doorstep nso is the outdoor one. The breakfast is also wholesome n with a variety of things to offer. All in all a very cost economic n values for money hotel.

Room Tip: Pls choose a room valley side facing.

Nov. 2012 visited Genting highland a resort and theme park north of Kuala Lumpur.
This is highly over rated but very popular resort amongst Indian and Gujarati community.
However it is for middle class people who is looking for cheap deal for theme park and resort .
In order to keep people in side resort there is no way you can get out of resort to take a walk and enjoy out side nature and fresh air.
After 24 hours I was feeling like prisoner. You can see natural scenery out side from room window but you cannot enjoy it by taking walk.
Highly disappointed.
