Great place, but the genting highland staff is the rudest one you might ever see. Rude enough to ruin your whole day! Specially the staff at the 'genting highland' bus stop in KL sentral station.

Genting highland is surely one of the very attractive places. However, outdoor theme park is closed for 2 years, so all you would be able to enjoy is the 20 minute long cable car ride and the indoor area. Certainly worth visiting this place.

There are regular buses from Sentral,Kuala Lumpur at about half an hour gap. It takes about 1 hour journey from KL. The GH is like a hill station . On the way , you can have a very sceneric view of the mountains and hills lined by tall trees and greenery all around. Once you reach GH you are taken to the top of the hill by cable car.The cable car takes about 20 minutes , it takes you above the beautiful rain forests, where you can hear the sounds of different birds and animals. The Genting Highland on the top comprises various hotels, restaurants, gaming places. The climate on the hill is cool and very serene . Those who wish to play games in the play stations ,can enjoy the place , others can enjoy the ambiance of the place.
It is a good place for the cable car ride and the cool weather.

If you wanted a cool place to chill out, genting is the place! There are cabs/buses that can take you there in less than 2 hours. The cost varies from 7 myr to 20 myr by bus or taxi respectively. Over there, you have plenty of things to do - shop, dine, roam around, play, gamble - what not?? If you are a nightly person, you can spend the whole night there and come back in the morning to have a good sleep at the hotel :D

The best part of this trip was by far the gondola ride! We took it from the top to the bottom and sat facing forward, it was a beautiful sight to see at sunset! The overall resort is quite aged and the outdoor theme park is closed (rumour is until 2016 for a revamp; 20th century fox park), so for the youngish travelers, the Casinos are the most entertaining, easy to get casino cards! Big complex, so be prepared to walk around alot looking for things, ATMS, bathrooms and lockers were rather sparse and ill-located for our needs. We found ourselves walking back and forth several times! Good chinese in the food court, and lots of places for drinks and snacks! The sky-diving simulator is the best thing an adult can do while the roller coasters are closed. It is really fun and great to watch, too. however, as it is older, the weight restrictions went from 115kg to 95kg; they said the fan has weakened! Also, you can ALWAYS get deals for these hotels, especially First World Resorts, on Groupon Malaysia!! It's a fun day out of the city; take the gondola ride and bring a coat!

Genting highlands is a climb up the hills within an hour from KL. the climb is scenic. As we go up it gets misty and at one point there are indeed the clouds. the indoor theme park is full of rides and shops, very cheerful ambience. the cable car ride in Genting is a must-must, the ride down the hill with tall tree tops beneath the car and fog blocking one's vision is simply spell binding. this experience is best felt!
