Villa Neri Resort & Spa
Ranked #1 of 4 Hotels in Linguaglossa
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed October 16, 2012

We booked a room at the Villa Neri for a quiet and relaxing break and it was absolutely fantastic!

The hotel is set among the vineyards and olive groves of the beautiful Sicilan countryside with spectacular views of Mount Etna and surrounding hills. The hotel building, outdoor swimming pool and inside spa are modern and everywhere is very tastefully decorated in a clean and unfussy modernist style, all kept clean and absolutely spotless. This is what one might expect of a five star establishment but the Villa Neri went further because the hotel has such a wonderful heart and soul provided and maintained by the staff that exceeds anything we have ever encountered before.

We were welcomed by Annalisa at reception who helped us in so many ways, with everything from advice about the locality, orgainising excursions and taxis, suggestions on what to do and surprising us with a fantastic cake on my birthday! We were treated more like friends of the hotel than as guests! We upgraded the room to one with a terrace to enjoy the spectacular views more and this again was done without any problem and at a discounted rate! On our last day we were leaving late to catch our evening flight and Annalisa arranged for us to have an evening checkout time so that we could enjoy our room and the scenic grounds for the full day.

Such genuine helpfulness is a halmark of the Villa Neri because it was mirrored in Germana, the lovely lady and excellent masseuse who runs the Spa. We recommend the Wet Area and wave massage unreservedly! Mario and Maria attended us at breakfast and the restaurant in the evenings, with friendliness and attentive efficiency. Their faultless service in line with the highest standards of service. The food in the restaurant is delicious, seriously good! The prices are comparable with London restaurants but the dishes are seriously worth it! Again, we recommend the cuisine of the Villa Neri completely and unreservedly!

There is no doubt in our minds that we shall return!

Room Tip: Room 207 has I think the best views of both Mount Etna and the hills down to the sea, but rooms with...

We loved everything about the hotel.
It may be a bit far off the track,
but you have a really quiet and serene atmosphere.
The surroundings and the hotel itself is stunning.
Good view at mount Etna from the breakfast room.
The rooms are very spacious and designed to a
very high and tasteful standart.
I will definitive stay there again.

A stunning hotel located near the Etna. Beautiful rooms and great swimming pool. Unfortunately was the service at the restaurant very bad. They had young guys (interns?) who obviously never ever worked in a restaurant. They were constantly standing behind you and if you took one sip of your glass they were pouring more wine in. Waiters should definitely not interrupt you during a conversation (happend several times). If this happens in a bar or cheap restaurant that's not a problem, but not in a 5 star restaurant.

Dear Guest,

thank you for your advice, definitely the stagiaires do not represent what the high standard of service we have at Villa Neri and I would invite you to reconsider your opinion taking into consideration the whole and not 1 stagiaire. These are young people, at their first experience but willing to learn and to do ( probably your disappointment is due to their effort of overdo..)

We look forward to have you back here and enjoy the luxury and hospitality of Villa Neri.

Yours sincerely

We arrived at Villa Neri without any reservations but we were lucky they had room for us for two nights. They were also kind enough to give us the lower rate which we had found on the internet. We booked a suite that was beautiful with a double shower that could have fit 10 people! The hotel is stunning and the service is fantastic from the time we arrived until the time we left. It was not busy so we got to enjoy the hotel almost to ourselves. Breakfast is very good with a wonderful selection of items. We had dinner the first night at the hotel and the food is very pricey but it was amazing. The beds are comfortable although the A/C is not very strong but ok. From the pool you get a nice view of Mount Etna, close enought to see but far enough, just in case. The views from the front and back of the hotel are beautiful. If you want 5 star accomodations, 5* food and 5* service, this is the hotel for you.

Room Tip: Check the internet for a lower rate first. Get the Suite, it's beautiful.

We had the pleasure to spend two nights in a suite at the Villa Neri in July 2012. The hotel is beautifully located in Linguaglossa which is on the slopes of Mount Etna. The grounds are spectacular and very well maintained. The hotel has a great view of Mount Etna and the view down the valley is stunning. It is a 25 minute drive to Taormina and it is centrally located in the wine region surrounding Etna (a good home base if you are visiting wineries).

Staff are wonderful if not a little over eager to wait on you. It was in the middle of the week so the property was a little slow which suited us perfectly. We were toured around the hotel and offered a welcome drink and a fruit platter - nice touch.

Had dinner at the hotel's restaurant the first night - dinner was very good. Food is modern Sicilian and exactly what you would expect from a 5 star restaurant. Most of the ingredients come from the towns surrounding the hotel which is nice - products are all first rate. Restaurant is pricey. Breakfast buffet is very good and has a wide assortment of European breakfast selections.

Room was very well designed and was impeccably clean. Sheets are wonderful, bed is comfy. Bathrooms in the suites are huge with funky styling, which is a nice change for Italy. We had a shower with two rain heads, a spray wand and a waterfall - awesome. Only con was that you couldn't run them at the same time a the water would back up.

There are a few minor points that I think the hotel could improve upon: air conditioning was not really working too well. We were told that this was a problem with the central system and not our room on the first day. This did not improve on the second day. Secondly, the pool needs a good scrub - this was strange as all the other areas of the hotel are spotless.

Tip: Best way to find the hotel is to get to Linguaglossa and then follow the signs. I had trouble trying to find the exact street on my gps beforehand but once I got to the small town there were posted signs from the hotel that tell you where to go.

I am looking forward to going back to Villa Neri to see a few more wineries that I missed this time around.

This resort and spa is wonderful and I'm looking forward to coming back. Everything is so beautiful and well planned from the custom Sicilian headboards and the tiles in the baths to the tremendous assortment local goodies at breakfast. The owners and staff were so hospitable during our stay they helped us plan wine and Mt Etna tours and special requests at dinner. Also, I took advantage of the spa services and had a very relaxing time and it was so clean like the rest of the resort. The grounds are perfectly landscaped and you can sit back and enjoy the views of the volcano and the ocean together....and a nice negronil! Villa Neri definately be on my next Sicliy trip!

Room Tip: There are some rooms on the 2nd floor that have the best view of Etna and the ocean from the balconi...
