We read the very good comments about this restaurant and went there with lots of enthusiasm. Unfortunately we were not very hungry so we only wanted to order one course per person and wine. This costed the waiter a great deal of discontent. He constantly tried to convince us to order more food which we didn´t want to. As a result, the atmosphere of our dinner was quite unpleasant. We waited for our food a lot and felt quite uncomfortable. Food was ok.

Amazing little place, and it is small 6 tables! So best to book, but we went on Sunday evening which are quiet, so you do not need to book, well in September, August might be different.

The food is amazing and really good value for the quality, so much better and cheaper than the places on the coast.

The waiter is very attentive, only speaks a small amount of English but very keen to speak it. The chef came and saw us at the end which was a nice touch, although he doesn't speak any English.

This is one place not to miss on a holiday to Tuscany!

This is one of the best restaurants in the area....
Every time I go I discover something new. The place is small and cosy, the kind of restaurant you go to on special occasions... you have to knock on the door to be let in!
The service is excellent, actually probably more than that, the waiter is very professional and he practically pampers you from the beginning to the end of meal. But he also understand if you want to be left alone, and just appears when necessary.
The food is divine!
I believe that the chef, Mr. Claudio Folini is at is best at the moment, so I suggest to however is passing by to try his fantastic cooking.
The quality of the raw materials is very good.
The starters are always a treat; I advise the tris that always offers a variety of fish, cooked or raw presented in different ways, that change according to what the sea offers.
The octopus in double cooking is superb, but I also suggest the scallops in parmentier cream, very delicate and tasty.
The first courses are always my best choice, but i have to admit that all the second courses I have tasted have really been wonderful!
This is the only restaurant where I also manage to eat the dessert, probably due to the fact that it is prepared very well, no matter what your choice is.
Truffles at the end; don't forget them! Whoever likes dark chocolate, like I do, cannot go without, so leave yourself a small little space for them.
The price : the price is fair and justified, thinking that you are eating fresh fish cooked in a very skilled way! To tell you the truth I have eatean a lot worse in quoted restaurants and also paid a very huge price for it.
Only for connoiseurs and for who can really appreciate quality food!

I am from Carrara and I am sorry I did not go before, we had a fantastic experience in a quiet night during the week. The place is small and fills up easily... Reservation is highly recommended!
The chef/owner came to us few times and he was super helpful and super accommodating. The maître was also very professional with a great knowledge of the food and the wines he was serving.
Food was excellent, the top of the night were the warm SeaBream Carpaccio over a bed of fresh porcini mushroom and the Crusted tuna steak.
I know in Italy is not easy to work at the moment but I am proud to see people working so hard to keep up and do it still with love... Good job guys!!! See you soon!

Well, I happened to dine at this restaurant firstly on a business dinner while attending a Fair in Carrara and decided to get back with my husband for a romantic private dinner.
The restaurant is in a small side street and you'll quite miss the entrance, as you can see from the pictures on TripAdv, it really is a "Purtunzin" that's to say a small-wooden-entrance-door, JFYI Ninan is the name of that part of the city.
The restaurant inside is quite small, there are just enough tables so you'd better book before going there. Cream walls, dark wooden ceilings and low lights and voices, all make for a cozy and luxurious atmosphere, the kitchen is upstars and dishes are brought down by a hidden lift the waiter manages. I strongly suggest the Menu at 31euro per person (excluding coffee) that changes according to the daily catch, it really is fantastic, if after the first two courses you'll think "I'll need a pizza afterwards" do not worry, after all the terrific fish you'll eat, you'll feel replete. If you choose à la Carte, I strongly counsel the entré "carpaccio di branzino sul letto di funghi porcini" (hot branzino on porcino mushrooms slices), and one of the very best tagliolini al nero di seppia I've ever eaten (cuttlefish ink black tagliolini pasta), fried shrimps and squids are also excellent and ... dry.
Sorry I got lost remembering, but the place is fabuluos for both a private or business dinner, just difficult parking in the narrow streets nearby so you could wander for a bit.
