“Quite an experience”
Reviewed May 27, 2014

You are or not into the marble industry, if you are in the area, don't miss out the tour.
There are not many underground quarries where you can get a tour and have this sort of service and guide. Amazing!

“What tour?”
Reviewed September 26, 2013

We arrived at the Fantisritti parking lot about 3:00 pm (although there were no signs indicating that was the right place). We waited for a while, then decided that the parking lot must be further down the road. We almost got run over by several marble-carrying trucks while going through one of the tunnels. After walking at least a 1/2 mile, we decided not to go any further. A tourist in a car stopped to see if we needed help. They had no room for us but said they would tell someone at the tour site we were stranded in the middle of nowhere. No one came, so we hiked back to the road that led back to Carrara, hoping for a bus to come along to pick us up. Finally, a nice gentleman in an SUV came along and offered us a ride back to town...what a disaster! All we saw were dozens of trucks and a huge loader, none of which were any help to us.

“Really interesting and worth the trip”

Fantiscritti or the Marmo Tour is delightful. One gets to enter the Cave di Marmo with excellent tour in Italian or English, and the Museum by the store is fabulous! Not to miss!

“Beautiful and Interesting”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

It was quite a curvy drive to get up to the mountain cave entrance where the tour started, but it was well worth it! The tour cost 9 euro per person and took about 30 minutes in which the guide (you can choose English or Italian) shared some interesting facts about the cave (part of the Fantiscritti mine area) in which the marble is taken out of the mountain. It was very beautiful and the tour guide did an excellent job! There is a reason it is called the marble cathedral!

Perfect tour into the cave with great guide - she was like an actress and "showed" everything about marmo with her hands.
