We had a great guide, Valentina, who proudly told us of the marble quarry. She was funny and energetic and her English was wonderful. The history is quite interesting. We did the short tour, 40 min and then drove the scenic route to Colonnata and Carrara. If you are in the area, be sure to plan a visit with Marmotours. The on site museum was good too. Wild flowers were competing for our attention too.
The only issue we had was that there were no functioning bathrooms while we were in this scenic spot. They should be fixed by now!
