“Excellent Food, Service and extensive choice of Abruzzese wines”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2011

In spite of living in Teramo for many years and having had a number of guests visit this restaurant, last evening was our very first visit and what an unexpected surprise it was. Attentive service, a menu consisting of traditional Teramane dishes and some more elaborate creations, which were absolutely delicious and presented as well as many top class restaurants we've eaten in around the world. A very extensive wine list too, predominantly from the Abruzzo region, which was great to see and drink! A little pricier than other places, so not one to go to every week, but as a treat or special occasion, it is certainly on our list of places to recommend. The only downside was the lack of other diners - our table of 4 and just one other diner and it was a Friday night!

“No house wine? We don't believe it!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2009

We took my husband’s aunt here for lunch. It is a very attractive, up-scale place painted in pale yellow with vaulted ceilings. We ordered from the regional Teramo specialties with a touch of haute cuisine. Aunt Fannie and I had the bean and faro (an ancient type of grain) soup. I thought the soup was flavorful and hearty, but our 85-year-old aunt said the faro wasn’t cooked enough and her home-made soup was better. My husband had an egg pasta with a sweet sauce of tomatoes and olives and large, savory capers that gave the sauce an unexpected limey tang. (Don’t let the shape of the pasta—like large worms—put you off.) We had a plate of 3 contorni—sautéed chicory, red onions with balsamic vinegar and green beans with mint—excellent! We also had 3 beers and water. With a 3.5 Euro cover charge per person, our bill was 47.5 Euros. Service was professional. Our only concern was that the waiter told us that they did not offer house wine, only bottles; the minimum price being 14 Euros. However, I noticed that at a large table of 12 Italian diners, he was freely pouring wine from a lovely carafe. I doubt if he had decanted wine and transferred it to the carafe.
