We returned to lgq after four years, to find it was even better, if that's possible - a small fridge in the room added to our convenience - the daily breakfasts were a gourmet's delight, the views from our room were breath-taking, the helpfulness of our hosts was superlative, from assisting with Italian sim cards, to helping locate properties the agent couldn't find, nothing was too much trouble - it was truly a home away from home and I would encourage any visitors to Italy to include lgq in their itinerary, it will enhance their Italian experience

Had a great stay that exceeded expectations in every way! We stayed in the large room which was simply perfect. Now trying to work out when to visit next! Make sure to get cooking tips from Sergio...

My brother and I made last minute plans to travel to Teramo for a family wedding in December. After reading reviews on TripAdvisor we were hoping to stay at La Grande Quercia but we were disappointed to find out that they were closed for the season. We contacted the owners, Russ and Sergio, and asked if we could stop by to see their bed and breakfast to consider for our next visit to Teramo. Well, one thing led to another and the next thing you know they were hosting a dinner party for our Italian family to celebrate my brother's 60th birthday! I cannot say enough about this place or about Russ and Sergio. They are first class all the way, and everything they did was amazing. The bed and breakfast itself is beautiful and has been renovated to perfection. The food was outstanding and even my Italian relatives were impressed. We had such a lovely evening and I cannot wait to visit this amazing location again and spend more time with Russ and Sergio. Great hosts, great location and great times!

After spending a month travelling around Europe from Australia we came to Italy for the final leg of our trip and stayed in La Grande Quercia and I'm so glad we did, it was the high-light of our trip, such a beautiful place and Russ and Sergio were the perfect hosts. The food they served was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them. We are planning to return in the not too distant future.

My husband and I visited three quieter regions of Italy in October - Abruzzo, Molise and Le Marche. Our first stop was La Grande Quercia in Teramo, Abruzzo, where we spent five days. All of the reviews for this B&B were excellent - and our experience was nothing less.

Russ and Sergio were marvelous hosts - serving us a delicious breakfast of figs from their trees, fresh squeezed pomegranite juice, lovely fresh savory tarts and much more.

Our room was comfortable and absolutely pristine.

One night my husband took a cooking class with Sergio - and we all got to enjoy the meal that evening.

Russ and Sergio helped us plan each day's outings - right down to providing us with an annotated map of the region. They called ahead to restaurants to make sure we would be accommodated and made arrangements for us to watch olive pressing in a neighboring town.
When we needed to do laundry - Russ took care of it for us for a modest 10 euro.

We hope to return with friends and family.

Room Tip: La Grande Quercia is absolutely spotless - no "tip" needed to choose a good room.

Thank you so much for your review of your stay here at La Grande Quercia and we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay here in Abruzzo. It was really great to hear you say that of the 19 out of 20 regions you have now visited in Italy, that Abruzzo is high on the list of your favourites. With just one more to go, it will be interesting to learn what your final ranking will be for Abruzzo.

It was a real pleasure to have you stay here and Sergio very much enjoyed the cooking class, especially when he learned that some of his tips will be used in Enrico's own classes back in the States. When we come over, we'll be sure to book a lesson!

Thank you once again and we very much look forward to seeing you here again one day.

With best regards,

Russ & Sergio
