Recently, my wife and I had the occasion to spend 3 nights at the Posejdon in Neum,Bosnia i Herzegovina. The hotel is well kept and clean. The reception was pleasant and friendly enough in a business sense and we were assigned a nice sea view mini apt/room with a/c which was quite basic offering no coffee maker, phone or refrigerator but f/wifi. Not impressive considering the price of the room. The bathroom was clean but we found it quite small and cramped. The bedroom was quiet, comfortable and facing the sea with windows that offered nice fresh air for sleeping.
The restaurant offered a good choice of food. Breakfast was included and was certainly enough to start your day off. The support staff were all very friendly and helpful.
There were not enough seaside lounge chairs available that were not cracked or broken when we first arrived and had to beg, borrow and steal for a good one which you should not have resort to doing at a hotel.
The seaside frontage of the hotel is private and we were not at all pleased with the regular guests practice of staking out their spot on the sea wall by reserving lounge chairs and umbrellas, by placing towels and the umbrellas on the beds, thus preventing other paying guests from using them . Many would then leave for hours at a time or even the the whole day or two. We got the impression that this was mainly a weekend getaway spot were many BiH citizens would come on a regular basis and knew the ropes.
For us this practice was very rude, inconsiderate and unprofessional of the hotel that they would allow this to happen.
This was our 5th trip to BiH and Croatia but our 1st stay at the Posejdon. On our next visit to Neum we will consider other options. AT/PK Thailand
