We went there yesterday for Sunday lunch it was absolutely dreadful we ordered 2 beef and 1 pork. The beef was so tough neither of us could eat it - to be honest when I tasted it it didn't even taste like beef. The vegetables for the beef were deep fried 'roasted' potatoes and peas. The pork dinner had very little in the way of meat even though we ordered a large portion. However, it came with about 4 pieces of carrot and a couple of pieces of broccoli - so at least it had more veg than the beef. An absolute waste of money. We went to Waitrose afterwards and bought a sandwich!!!!

We stayed in the nearby Leeds Bradford Travelodge and used this Pub twice.
The pub has a nice atmosphere which is sometimes absent in a "chain" such as this. We both had surf & turf with a bottle of red wine.
Service was very good and staff helpfully substituted bread & butter instead of fries for my wife. The meal was at the upper-end of the scale for pub-grub. The steak was cooked exactly how we asked, and it was tender, succulent and piping hot.
I was pleasantly surprised with the wine which was a "hardy's" Private Bin Shiraz. It was good value at £9 for a whole bottle.
Breakfast on Sunday morning was also good value and cooked to a reasonable standard.
However, Ourselves and guests at three other tables all had to enquire how much longer we had to wait for our food. They were VERY slow (approx 45min) and the place was not busy.
I would use the place again and would have rated it "Very Good" had the Sunday morning service been up to scratch.

From it's checkered past as Court House,School, Assembly Hall and drinking place it was tastefully re-revamped a few years ago.
This a typical Wetherspoon's hostelry the lunch time menu is good value for the price. My spare ribs with drink included, off the daily special menu, was particularly good.
You know you will have to order at the bar but then the food service was quick. No doubt this system helps reduce costs. The ambiance was typically "Pub" and the glassed inner courtyard a particular pleasant feature.
All in all a good addition to a market town, which already has a great range of eating houses.

Visited with family members....On approaching this venue, there is a huge outdoor seating area which is used very well in good weather conditions....Excellent location to watch the world go by....whilst enjoying the beverages and food....
We entered and although quiet, a few folks were all ready seated and eating..There are no steps in so good for anyone with walking difficulties.....To the right there was a big log fire burning, which was welcoming and gave the place an inviting atmosphere.
The room was big and quite spacious, with enough tables and chairs, but not too crowded,, it then leads on down to another annex and the bar....
There is an other outdoor garden area to the left hand side of the bar.....This area was quite full, the whole environment leads itself to a pub that allows ''conversation ''rather then noisey music, TV, and pub games.... etc....The ladies toilets , which were clean and fairly modern, are upstairs, however there is a downstairs toilet for disabled use...
A meal deal for two of coffee (refillable free) a hot chocolate and ''egg benedict x2, plus a full breakfast and hot chocolate..and the bill came to less then £12......
This is an environment with no frills, for the shoppers, families, visitor and locals alike....Good prices and pleasant helpful staff will certainly encourage me to visit again.....
