Needed a quick lunch in Otley with some friends so we chose to meet in the Fleece. Only two miles away from the Wharfdale brewery they had no fewer than 8 draught beers on tap. We all settled for baguettes to eat which were very well presented with chips and salad, and only £7 each! Great value and a superb view over the river Wharfe too.

Having read the good reviews already posted, we were looking forward to a hearty Sunday lunch. Ordered roast pork dinner, which was very disappointing. 1 measly broccoli floret, very few carrots, forgotten apple sauce and 2 pieces of roast potato that were clearly not home made. The Yorkshire pudding was cold and far from fresh tasting and the pork was as chewy as an old slipper. Terrible value for money. Bad service as was not offered any discount or replacement for the inedible pork. Will NOT be returning ane would NOT recommend.

Whilst not cheap for Sunday lunch the food was a better standard than the average "Carvery" pleasant surroundings very good selection of beers made this a good choice. The roast beef was my choice and was cooked just to my liking although some may find it a tad to rare.
Only complaint was the waiter took his eye of the game after offering us the dessert menu and forgot to ask if we wanted to order, after waiting a while we decided that maybe it was better for our waist lines to go to the bar and ask for our bill.

Pub is very nice inside. Good selection of guest ales and ciders.
Set menu for Sunday dinner. After a long day climbing, this place is not advised. Four of us were expected to pay £12 for a Sunday dinner main course. The meals came and all looked like starters. The waiter was sent back to the kitchen for the crackling (which had run out), and the apple sauce (which we were lucky to get at all with the apparent nationwide shortage).
To their credit, they listened to our complaints and gave us 50% off. But now we need a McDonald's on the way home.

Visited the Fleece again last Friday 19th July at 5pm and ate off the 'early bird' menu at £12.95 for 2 courses. A choice of 3 for each course. We both had the lamb starter which was superb and then had the Fish & Chips which to be honest was the best I've had for many years. My partner couldn't eat all hers as it was a large portion so of course it had to be finished off! Too good to waste. The service was excellent. The beer garden looked good but ate inside.
The main menu looked very pricey but on the other hand the food would have no doubt been excellent.
Would certainly visit again.
