Stayed for 2 nights through Easybreaks and got a very good deal for DBB. Allocated a cabin room, decent size but dated, mouldy grey bathroom suite, tired looking, although bedroom clean and comfortable.
Spa area very good, enjoyed outdoor jacuzzi even in the rain.
Had 6 course taster menu each evening, have 3 menus which change each day, excellent first night but not so much to our taste the second night although still well presented.
Breakfast staff very friendly but others a bit hit and miss especially on reception.
Overall good value for money and would return if we found another good offer.

I booked a two day spa break after having the same package last year and really enjoying it. We had one of the wooden cabins, which although smaller than the one we had last year was still very nice. Bathroom was fine, cabin was clean and comfy, and we saw loads of birds and squirrels! Having found out I had shingles two hours before heading the hotel I was worried that I wouldn't be able to have any of the three treatments included in the package. However, when I talked to the girls at the spa, they offered me alternative treatments, which I'm sure they didn't have to and I really appreciated their kindness in making sure I still enjoyed myself. I wasn't able to use the swimming pool, but my sister spent plenty of time in it and was happy with it. The first night we had the taster menu and it was great. We were looking forward to the taster menu on the second night, but unfortunately there was a big power cut in the local area and all power in the hotel was lost. We made our way from the cabin to the main building (in the scary dark!) to see what was going on. Most of the other guests had done the same, so we decided to hole up in the bar. The manager and staff were excellent, explaining what was happening and keeping us updated. They provided us with free wine and orange juice and then rustled up a cold buffet. After the power came back on, we headed back to our cabin. We then got a phone call from reception letting us know there was hot soup and chips at the main building if we wanted it.
So overall, top marks for making my holiday enjoyable even with all that going on!

We booked a 2 night say in an Executive lodge directly with the internet booking system. When we arrive we found we had been upgraded to a suite which has 2 bedrooms, lounge/dining/kitchen area, which was a lovely surprise, especially as we had our dog with us. We were offered vouchers on line too, when booking, which allowed us discounts off our room, a steak meal and a bottle of wine. Our lodge/suite was lovely and warm, it was clean and spacious.
Food in the restaurant, both at breakfast and dinner was of a good standard, nicely presented, served and freshly cooked. The staff were very nice.
The only criticism I have is that the receptionist on duty when we checked in gave us incorrect info about where we could go in the hotel with our dog. She said we couldn't go into the bar/conservatory area with him, and we had been told previous to our visit, that this was fine. It resulted in us having the scour the countryside on our first day to find somewhere we could lunch with our pet. We found out later from 'Asia', a really helpful and clued in girl who ran the bar most efficiently ( almost single handed!) that pets were accepted in the bar if you were eating and drinking in there. She deserves a commendation! Otherwise the hotel would have lost 2 lunch sessions from customers willing to stay and eat/drink on the premises. |Not good marketing!
I would visit again, overall a very pleasant stay, oh and free Spa access included.

Room Tip: The Swaledale suite would be great for 2 couples or a family. Was really quiet too. Nice walks (Chev...

When we booked we were not advised that we were in a wood cabin, however, this proved adequate albeit small. We had booked directly over the internet and not through a Groupon or other offer. The first evening we booked for a meal in the restaurant and although we knew this was expensive, the amount delivered was poor in quantity. I did complain about our meals being delivered on a wooden platter instead of on a plate as the sauce could run off the platter. I ordered a sweet and was disgusted by this. It contained one scoop of icecream, a tablespoon of plum crumble and one strawberry all for £5.95. Having said this the quality of the food was good and the breakfasts were varied and excellent.

Enjoyed 1 night stay so much we have booked for another 2 for April.

First mistake we made was to book our spa treatments for 1.45 so unable to check into room first. This meant that we had our treatments and (in a most relaxed and warm state) had to dress to return to the car to get our things. I had lime and ginger scrub which was heavenly! Treatment room is lovely and relaxing. All towels provided along with big sexy paper knickers!.

Luckily our room was available shortly after treatments and no problem getting in a little early but advise to book treatments after check in so that you can get into robes! The smell that is apparent when you enter the main building is of cosy coal fire.

We had executive room 2 in main building which was clean and comfortable. Bathroom need updating but nevertheless did the job. No problem with water and room was nice and warm, comfy bed and plenty of tea/coffee etc. We looked out over the lake but a few people did walk by the windows (which are large patio doors) and look in as they passed.

Hot tub was fab outside which overlooked the lake and we saw rabbits and squirrels. We also used the pool, sauna and steam room all of which were clean.

Enjoyed 6 course taster but bear in mind that the tables are very close together and we felt like we were dining as a group so not a romantic meal. Someone complained earlier about the size of the cheese and cracker but it's what is says on the tin...a taster menu and very tasty it was. Due to the seating only we have therefore booked B & B for April and will check out the Chevin Inn close by which was said to be lovely (menu online).

Slept well although the room is next to the stairs and so all of the footsteps and voices could be heard early in the morning.

Breakfast was good with several choices. We had full breakfast with Haggis and it was nice...bit posh don't expect a big fry up but nice. Plenty of cereal, toast, pastries, fruit etc as well. Staff really pleasant and not intrusive.

Looked like there was some good walking around the area although we didn't do any due to the weather. We went into Otley but there isn't much there really.

There has been lots of hype about no Wii Fi but heck this was a plus for us!! You're surely there to relax and spend time together. There's plenty of time for all that nonsense when you get back on the treadmill!

Can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Room 2 could be a little noisy due to being near the stairs although it does have uninterrupted view...

My boyfriend treated me to a spa weekend here and it was just PERFECT! The rooms and hotel were gorgeous and the food was just amazing!! Loved the options as we did the deal and had so much to choose from!! The breakfast was so lovely and I had all my favourites from yummy little jams to Nutella pouches to fresh fruit and tea on tap!
The bal neck and shoulder massage was incredible and I would love to come back here again as all the facilities took my breath away!

We stayed at the Chevin Country Park Hotel and Spa for a couple of nights on at the end of January on a Groupon offer. We were allocated room 18, upstairs at one end of the hotel. The room was lovely and warm which was nice as the weather wasn't too pleasant. The room is a good size and styled like a lodge with wood plank walls. The bathroom was a decent size but looked due for a refurbishment although fairly clean and tidy. The shower above the bath has its height limited by the sloping roof and was a little too low for my average height. Plenty of hot water at a decent pressure though. We didn't use the spa facilities as we were touring the area, neither did we use the restaurant. The breakfast however was extremely good with a large choice and nicely presented. The setting of the breakfast room is very nice with views out across a small lake. The hotel is nicely situated in a wooded area high up on the moors above Otley. There is ample parking in the hotel's car park. We had a good and comfortable stay and would certainly stop again if a suitable deal came along.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 18 which was upstairs, quiet and lovely and warm
