“Girl's Spa Weekend at the Chevin Country Part Hotel & Spa”

From start to finish the venue could not be more perfect....relaxing woodlands, surrounding a picturesque lake...there's just a feeling of being in another country far far away from all civilisation. The accommodation was lovely, the service was brilliant and staff were so friendly. We stayed in a log cabin in the woods; so quiet and peaceful. A night of DVD's, wine and treats was exactly what we all wanted and definitely got. After a very cosy sleep we enjoyed a relaxing day at the spa...lounging by the pool, braving the freezing temperatures to run out and into the outdoor hot tub and all booking in for a treatment or two. Sadly, we eventually had to pack up and go but definitely are planning on coming back in the very near future.

Room Tip: Personally from experience I would say DEFINITELY try and book into a cabin to get the full experien...

Dear Aida,

Thank you for your review and it was just amazing to read your feedback.
Indeed the girsl night inn package offers excellent value and the combination with the woodland lodges really give it that extra edge.

Looking forward to welcoming you back soon and have a wonderful christmas.

Myself and my partner had a one nights stay at the Chevin Country Park Hotel with dinner and breakfast. The room was very clean and lovely and warm. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the facitlities were of a high standard (especially enjoyed the hot tub). We would definately stay again and would also recommend to anyone for a nice romantic getaway!!

We stayed in one of the lovely cabins and found it cosy and luxurious; the temperature control system was perfect. Particularly enjoyed our treatments with Emma the friendly therapist and relaxing in the outdoor hot tub. The food was delicious and served in elegant surroundings, would highly recommend the homemade porridge and scrambled eggs with smoked salmon for breakfast. Would reiterate other people's comments about taking a torch, on these dark winter nights if you're staying in one of the cabins. Hope to go back soon.

I have also copied your feedback and handed this to Emma, she was delighted. Indeed our lodges are great and am pleased that you enjoyed them so much. I would also note that since yur stay with have actually added some more lighting in the woodlands.

Looking forward to welcoming you back soon and have a wonderful christmas.

Four of us came this time, two nights DBB including a complimentary bottle of wine per couple per night. Since our last visit (03/11) the restaurant menu had changed to a "taster" menu: besides the standard 3 courses we were offered an "amuse bouche" to begin with, and also a taste of special soup between the courses. Excellent presentation with friendly helpful staff. The spa now includes an outdoor hot tub (as well as the indoor jacuzzi).
We have stayed in the lodges in the grounds, but this time we had rooms in the main building. Small, but big enough and very comfortable, with views over the lake to the back . I am sure there will be a fifth visit!

Great to have guest coming back to the hotel, clearly indicating that we are on the right path. Indeed the hot tub outside is wonderful and I can assure you that it is even better when snowing......it is expected for the end of January so better book fast.

Looking forward to welcoming you back soon and have a wonderful christmas.

Stayed just one night dinner bed and breakfast. Room (#6) very good standard, spotlessly clean and plenty of tea and coffee. Very comfortable, plenty big enough and decently furnished with sufficient furniture, including a small settee. Decent size bathroom. This room is in the main block and looked out, via patio doors over a private but open seating area, to a lake - would be lovely in summer, but unfortunately too cold to sit out at this time of year!

Dinner was excellent - a "taster" dinner included in the deal price... possible to top-up to the main menu, but that seemed quite expensive to do. The taster dinner, with a bottle of quite decent wine thrown in, was very good though. We were a little worried to start with, as the portions seemed very small, but the starter and sweet were more or less full size, all the food was of very good quality, and neither of us went away hungry.

The spa is good - decent size pool, clean and well looked after. The Saturday pm/Sunday am we used it we had more or less to ourselves. Gym the same: good equipment, and empty: no fighting for equipment.

Breakfast was outstanding: excellent choice and, although buffet style, the hot food was cooked to perfection.

Have to comment on the staff: they were unfailingly friendly yet courteous, pleasant and helpful... those in the restaurant particularly so. Full marks there.

Down sides? Well, very few... rooms a little warm perhaps, but better that than being cold, and there is noise from the airport if that is a deal-breaker for you... but we had a great stay, wish it had been longer: we'll come back if we get the chance: at deal prices it's great value.

Room Tip: The weekend we stayed it poured with rain: the main building is fine, but if we had been in one of t...

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your review and it was just amazing to read your feedback.
I have noted your comments and can assure you that these will be shared with my team, thank you very much indeed.
In the past we have had some challanges with the heating in rooms and have seriously invested in this to ensure that all rooms are nice and warm. I will however ask my housekeeping team to reduce the heat slightly so that the rooms are comfortable instead of hot.

Looking forward to welcoming you back soon and have a wonderful christmas.

Been coming to Chevin for 2-3 years now and this is the first post.I have got to say how the chain does these special offers is by far the best deal I have ever come across. Not only are the staff and the general public relaxed in a rare but truly romantic retreat. The Lakeside restaraunt and the gymnasium are a Brucie Bonus. They did in their own admission lose a bit of the sparkle when they changed the chef.Who they let have his or her ideas and unfortunate to them did not work out.But now the sparkle is back and would recommend this to all.Fantastic value.ps...only one drawback.someone touched on it earlier and I know it's never going to be "Home" but the beds are rather uncomfy!!! Sorry but the truth.

Room Tip: any room they are all quality and one "special room" The Dales for the special occasion! e...

Dear Paul,

Thank you for you honest feedback. Indeed we struggled with the quality of our food last year, however with our new head (nov 2010) we have moved on to a new chapter and have also regained our much acclaimed rossette. A great reward for the hard work that has been delivered. In regards to your mattras I will look into this. What we are doing is relacing several a month and are nearing the conclusion of this.

Looking forward to welcoming you back soon and have a wonderful christmas.

We had our wedding at the Chevin on 26th November and our day was perfect. Throughout our planning the events team have been brilliant. On the day the decor was set out exactly how we wanted, all the staff went out of their way to make sure our day ran without a problem and Tom was just excellent. All of our guests compliemented the food and venue and said what a fantastic day they had.
The hotel itself is a beautiful, unique venue. It is a log cabin and hence has a very rustic look and feel to it. However we disagree with other reviews that the hotel is in any way shabby. All the rooms we saw were clean, tidy and well decorated, and in our opinion people are wrongly confusing the rustic look with shabbyness. We did have some issues with heating in one room, but staff were accomodating and polite when we addressed it.
We would definatley recommend this as a wedding venue, the ceremony in the lakeside room was beautiful as it is set out in a very intimate way and the whole place is very unique. We enjoyed our stay, loved our wedding and hope to visit again in the future.
