I stopped in Dowgill house for one evening after a hard days work and choosing to meet up with an old friend in Otley. Tim the proprietor was courteous and welcoming explaining everything and making me feel welcome. It was soon off around Otley for the delights of the ale houses. The room was clean, well presented with en-suite. Breakfast was prompt, welcoming, adequate and served with a smile.
When leaving for the day it was discovered the van had a flat battery and Tim and his wife were fantastic in assisting me get back on the road with the help of a local mechanic. Despite what could have been a busy morning for them they put the customer first.
Top marks and I'd be happy to recommend to anyone else staying in Otley.

We booked into Dowgill house for the weekend of 15/16th March which was just awful weather. The snow started on the Friday morning & by the time we got there on Friday afternoon it was coming down hard.
This didn't matter though as we were made very welcome by Tim & Helen & shown to our lovely warm room.
The Saturday morning dawned with a quick look out of the window revealing that in the night the snow really had come down, but we didn't care as the full English breakfast set us up for the day & a walk up the Chevin in the snow (Not for the faint hearted).
I've stayed in a lot of B&B's in the UK & this is up there in the top 10 for friendliness, cleanliness & nicely appointed rooms & location in the town.

Lovely little B&B - can't fault it! Warm welcome and lovely spacious room with everything you might need. Huge and very comfortable bed - stylish room without being over the top. Breakfast was again just what we wanted - a delicious full english, although other options were available.

Room Tip: NO 1 is lovely and spacious and quiet - overlooking the garden but also a few industrial buildings! Was fine though.

I stayed for 3 nights in this wonderful B & B as an alternative to a Leeds airport hotel. Dowgill House is in the centre of Otley with every amenity including convenient bus routes which meant I did not have to hire a car. The house has been refurbished sympathetically but has retained many of it's Georgian features, so much more character than an airport hotel! The bedroom had a very comfy bed and beautiful shower room, the lounge and breakfast room were spotless and nicely decorated. The breakfast was excellent with a great choice offered. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Room Tip: They are all good!

We stayed for one night in December to visit family, en route to our secret wedding in Gretna Green! Fabulous B&B. Gorgeous room & comfortable bed, every need catered for! Helen & Tim very nice, allowed us to store our bags with them when we arrived earlier than expected. Excellent breakfast, would definately stay again & recommend.
Reasonably priced drinks & meals at the pub across the road, for those staying longer requiring dinners or lunches. Otley is a lovely market town, we usually visit every christmas, one of our favourite places!
