“A Lechuga-only Menu”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2014

We discovered Casa Anton in a small street off of Lerma's Ducal Plaza. We walked in and asked for a menu, there isn't one. Anton slapped an unlabeled bottle of rosado on the table, and brought bread and salad. We asked another couple dining whether the bottle was wine. They told us that it was, and that they were Portuguese and had diverted their home bound trip to dine at this famous place. The suckling kid was really good (I still prefer suckling pig), and it was one of the best experiences of our Spain visit.

“The best castillian lamb”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 2, 2014

I've been there a few times, and I have to say this is the best castillian "lechazo" I've ever tried. They don't do anything else, which to me is part of their charm.

“fast food but fabulous food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 6, 2013

we were recommended to come here by a spanish photographer we met in a bar in burgos the night before - and he said he'd book sunday lunch for us. he did and it was fabulous - it was fast food, we sat down, no menu because as we'd been warned there was no choice (beware if you're vegetarian or even sensitive about eating very young meat) - salad, bread, rosado all put on the table then the lechazo comes in - 1/4 of a small and perfectly cooked lamb - that was it apart from a pudding or cheese - and it was perfectly delicious. people were queuing even tho other restaurants serving the same meat had tables at similar prices (53euros for 2) - so thanks Ignacio for the suggestion

“Fine meal of lamb with a gracious host”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 21, 2013

This charming restaurant was recommended to us and fulfilled its promise. It did not open for dinner until after nine o'clock (tough on us early-eating Americans) and we had been told that the only items on the menu that night would be lamb and sweetbreads, so we had lamb and sweetbreads. Accompanied by a nice, fresh salad with a vinagary dressing and a glass of house wine, we enjoyed some of the best grilled baby lamb chops we have ever had. We also sampled the excellent sweetbreads, small pieces also cooked on the grill. The host, Anton, was thoroughly charming and welcoming. The walls of this rustic place are hung with myriad photographs of Anton with many guests and friends. The restaurant is just off the Plaza Mayor, a very short walk from the marvelous Parador in the ducal palace.

“casa anton the place to visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 20, 2013

Although there is plenty of eating places in Lerma they seem to specialise in Lamb cooked over wood.
Casa Anton is the best place to enjoy this dish so don't bother looking at other places. The quality of the Lamb is good along with the salad, bread and wine. Don't be put off by the simple surroundings and basic table settings it's all part of the charm. Very much worth a visit at least once during a stay in Lerma.
