I have recently returned to from my July 2014 family vacation and I was actually sad about leaving. It is a really a nice place. The service was really nice everywhere you went someone said either hello or "Are you getting through ok?" Bob Marley drink.... Addicted! Tutsie Roll, Easy Breezey, Gummy Bear, Tinker Bell and the rest I never got there names but were really great and the best "Star Friends" to have. If I could say one negative thing it would be that there isn't an actual kids pool near the adults. The actual small kids pool is on the other side of the resort in the kids club area. There are portions of the adults pool where you can have your child (underneath the three palm trees) be with you but it's not a separation of the two near each other. Overall I would recommend this resort to any looking for a great family time in MoBay.

Not what we expected. Their website is not accurate. Here are a few examples:

1. Not top shelf alcohol. The only place in the resort where you can get any top shelf is the lobby bar. This is really inconvenient if you are at the pool or the beach. And, other than a few types of alcohol, there is not top shelf. The do have, for example, good Gin and vodka (at the lobby bar). But their best bourbon is Jim Beam -- really? I have better stuff in my house. Wine pretty much sucks, too.

1a. They do have specialty restaurants but, you have to pay extra for anything but the sucky house wine. Really? and they call this 'all inclusive'?

2. Kids club...ahhh, not really. It is 'open' from 10 am (or whenever they arrive) until 5 (or earlier if, apparently depending on the day). And, they are closed from 1 pm - 3:15 pm everyday.

3. The front desk staff is useless. Simply useless. We had to call repeatedly (4 or more times for each problem) for any number of simple to not-so-simple things (e.g., extra pillow -- really, 4 separate requests for that? how hard is it to get a pillow? and they bring 1 when we asked for 4? So, we had the wait again for the others).

4. Room service is not 24 hours - stops at 11 pm

5. Power went out repeatedly - 4 times we know of while we were there in July 2014. One time it was out for 2 hours - it wasn't an island problem as we could see lights in other places through our window.

6. Food is not good. When places like Texas Roadhouse and Red Lobster have better food, you have no right to call yourself a 5 star resort.

7. Fridge, room clock, and telephone never worked during our 7 days there - and they never even attempted to fix/replace any of them.

8. AC is not effective. On its lowest setting it is still not cool in the room (and that is when the power is actually working).

Room Tip: Good luck.

Went to Jamaica for my 30th birthday celebration. Everyone was so hospitable, treated us like queens. We were upgraded to the Presidential Suite which was even better. I had the best time!! Thank you!

First of all, train the staff to smile and say hello to every guest they come in contact with. Your guest services desk was curt and down right rude to me when I tried to book a specialty restaurant. Plus, they have limited hours at that desk, why? The guest is on vacation, the staff is not. Also, get rid of the frozen food on your menus. Offer fresh fish and fruits from the island. Plus the liquor was not top shelf, especially at the pool bar. The pool bar was never stocked or prepared and often sent us to another bar to get premium vodka. You should have to go containers for coffee and food because room service never delivered the leftovers we wanted from my husband's meal that he couldn't finish, but wanted it for later. Treat each guest like royalty. Remind the staff that the guest pays the bills around the resort and they should be respected and accommodated.

My wife and I (two elderly fun loving people ) stayed at this hotel for 14 nights from June23rd to July 7th. When we approached the hotel and the security officers opened the gates as we went down a long winding drive I thought this looks nice .The porters took our bags into the reception where,whilst waiting for a short time to be allocated our room, we were given a glass of fruit juice which,after travelling for 12 hours including the airport etc I thought that that was a very nice gesture.The receptionists are there to allocate you your room they are NOT meet and greeters..We did not pay for an ocean view room but we were satisfied with the one that we were allocated.. We dined in the little river buffet restaurant where we thought the food was just as good as the other three speciality restaurants We went to Kingston to see where Bob Marley lived this is a long trip but well worth it.We did not feel the need to visit anywhere else so we stayed within the hotel, beach and grounds.
We had a problem with the safe but it was fixed within 20 minutes we also had a problem with water pressure in the tap but that was also fixed very quickly.We met people from the USA, Canada ,North Wales and obviously England who all seemed to enjoy themselves.Weddings obviously take place and it was a novelty to see guests in lightweight clothes enjoying themselves. All the staff from the reception to the gardeners especially the bartenders at the pool bar (Dalbert)and the lobby bar (Camelia) (who will probably remember my wife and I by 2 vodka/tonics) together with the entertainment staff Tinkerbell etc were absolutely excellent.The Gym and the theatre were also very good.The waiters work for 12 weeks and then they have to go on holiday for 2 weeks without pay so that means that they are on holiday for 1 month per year without pay so whilst they do not go around with a begging bowl obviously tips are very much appreciated.The Wi-Fi is not free its very expensive.The hotel is not 5 star but a very good 4 1/2 star if you want a possible 5 star stay at the Suites or the Grande where the beach is rocky. If you have a problem with your accommodation speak to reception and it WILL be fixed do not complain on Tripadviser as adverse comments can affect peoples thoughts.Thank you Iberostar for a wonderful holiday and yes we would recommend this hotel to anybody and yes we will be back..Yar mon
