“Another great holiday”

This was the first time we returned to a resort and we were not disappointed, food was great,the service excellent and the cleanliness was great. Only shortcoming was the service at the pool bar, the hotel was not very busy while we were there, bot there were4bartenders working but unless you were wearing. A bikini you would have to wait a bit, there were people working there who helped make the holiday special,Joely at the front desk,in the dining room service from maxcine,trevon,suesie and decided was special the entertainment was good, Barbie had just started but she is a terrific addition, Cardine,as well was good, I watched as she went out of her to help a lady with her stroller and baby. While sitting in the lobby one evening there was a lady playing a guitar and Kanye and another performer took the microphone and entertained.it was one of the better shows. Overall a great holiday and we are considering. Returning again next year

Stayed at Iberostar Rose Hall Beach Feb. 11-18, 2013. I'd give this resort 4 out of 5. Property condition was generally excellent, although I was aware of a room next door with a shattered sliding balcony door, in which they still booked guests. Room service and housekeeping was excellent. Everything else that we used on the property was in good shape a very well maintained. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Food gets 5 stars for quality, variety, and preparation, even in the big buffet restaurant. Had dinner at the Cajun and Uncle Tony's Steakhouse specialty restaurants. Both excellent dinners. Even the steak was a pleasant surprise--It was actually quite good (unusual for all-inclusives). Activity staff did a great job. Didn't make enough of the nightly shows to rate them. Bartenders were generally excellent. The only small downside was the extremely limited coverage and stone age speed of the guest wi-fi. You had to go to the lobby for access. Note: An Extra tip for minibar stocking staff will mean that your request for special brand of beer, or mix of specific beverages will be honored. Overall, I'd have no hesitation with staying here again. It was a very good, hassle-free week.

While I wouldn't recommend this resort, as it didn't make a serious impression on me - I can't find too much bad to say about it either. The rooms are decent - the staff was helpful in changing our room. The first room was looking over an area of tarp/roofdeck - and they gladly moved us to a room with a great view of the pool/ocean.

The one thing I can say about this resort is that it seems great for kids/families - however, as a couple it would definitely be worth the extra $$ to upgrade to the grand or suites which are adults only. The jerk chicken was fabulous.. I had this for lunch at the beach every day along with a cold Red Stripe. The hibachi restaurant was really fun too and I was pleasantly suprised with the quality of the food.

The only thing I didn't like was that all of the beers/mixed drinks were always giving in plastic cups and there was no wait service in the pool/beach areas. I feel like this is really important in an all-inclusive.

The desk in the lobby where you go to sign up for excursions seemed very unorganized and there was always a line - and sometimes a wait of up to an hour. We did book the Martha Brae River boat tour and the Bus ride to Negril/Magaritaville and onto Ricks Cafe. By far the best day of the trip was in Negril. The beaches are amazing and leave much to be desired in Montego Bay. Especially at this resort as the beach is man-made. Also, we went for our final dinner at Pier One (which we also booked through the reservation desk) and the silver snapper and overall dining experience was amazing.

The people in Jamaica are so kind and the atmosphere is so relaxing that it's hard to be too negative.. however, a slightly better resort in the same area would have been a dream.

Only stayed here one night due to the resort we were staying at being overbooked. The entertainment staff was amazing. The food was very good. The rooms are a bit outdated (especially the hair dryers) but clean a have nice balconies.
The only thing I was not impressed on was that the 3 hotels share the same beach but because we were in the cheapest hotel (as told by security) when we went to the far end of the beach to play in the big waves we were approached by security for being in the wrong section and asked to leave that part of the beach!!! We were not using the chairs just had our towels sitting on one of the yellow chairs not the expensive pad seats and we were in the ocean. For this reason alone I would not go back! If they want to have this section for the top hotel and belittle other people then put up a wall and to top it off there was only 10 people on the beach so it wasn't like it was busy.

Rooms - big, clean, everything worked, sleeping room separated from mini-bar, closet, bathroom - great design for late sleepers with early rising spouses. Only thing I would do differently the next time I come back is to bring my own blow dryer as the one in the bathroom is difficult to use, slow to dry and scary (worried my hair would gt caught in it). Note that the mini-bar fridge only gets restocked every other day so plan your use of the water, etc. accordingly.

Food - AMAZING! Buffet was always good, fresh, clean, lots of variety, high quality food, helpful chefs at the carvery station and made-to-order stations. The a la cartes were all very good, but our group loved the Cajun and the Japanese a little bit more than the Steakhouse. You can have the house wines which are quite good or at the a la cartes you can order from the wine menu for an additional charge - good selection and they actually have stock of the wines of the menu on hand.

Drinks - good, not watered down, the mix tasted like it is supposed to taste, lots of drinks available as the bartenders are very knowledgeable. I even had a very good Couer Royale before dinner and the bartender even apologized from not having Creme de Cassis on hand instead of the plain blackberry liquer. The only thing one might say about the bar service is that the Lobby Bar and the Pool Bar do not staff enough bartenders on the busy weeks so there were quite long lines in those bars while there was never anyone at the Cigar Bar or the Music Bar. Howeve, I will be quick to add that these poor, overworked souls were terrific - pleasant, polite, efficient...wel done.

Pools, activities team, beach - I don't know what people are complaining about regading the "small beach" - this resort was at capacity and I never had a hard time finding a lounger in the sun when I wanted one or in the shade when I wanted one - and were were a group of 21 people who always managed to sit together regardless of what time people showed up. Lava Girl and Lemonhead and the rest of the Star Friends are a delight. The lifeguards were always present and very attentive (never saw one dose off).

We stayed at the Palace level (top) Riu in Mexico in January and then the Beach level (bottom) Iberostar in Jamaica in February and I need to say that they are extremely comparable in quality, comfort and opulence. For the money difference, I'd book Iberostar over Riu the next time I have to pick.

Oh, and we hope the lovely young lady whose job it is all day long to open the door to the buffet gets a share of the tips as she really deserves it.

We returned to the Iberostar Rose Hall Beach resort this year, as we were so impressed with it last year, and they did not disappoint us! We found the resort to be very well kept and clean everywhere. We also found the staff is so friendly, everyone you meet makes you feel special, from the maintenance and gardeners, the water sport people, the cleaners and the serving staff! So amazing when you think of all the people they come across in their work! The entertainment crew is one of the best we have ever met, and make you feel so special and important!
The food at the buffets and a la carte restaurants was always good, with lots of choices and variety-we don't know how you could do better than that! Special thanks to Patrice on the beach-she was so good to us! and to Dalbert in the beach bar! Both exceptional-but we never found anyone we didn't like! Having someone come walking by you while carrying a tray full of drinks on the beach and singing her heart out-how amazing is that!
We will come back as soon as we can-we loved every second of our stay there!

This was our third trip to Jamaica and by was far one of the best resorts we have stayed at over the last 15 years of travelling to the Caribbean.

The staff in all areas of the resort were very helpful/congenial, efficient and promoted the "feeling" that you were a valued guest - an attitude which was a welcome change from other resorts. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The buffet provided a wide assortment of dishes and was well cooked. The bar services within this resort, at the beach, pool, etc. would put some luxury hotels to shame.
We would highly recommend this resort to others and intend to return next year.
