We visited the Rose Hall Great House after dark and thoroughly enjoyed our 'chilling' experience! Especially as it seems not all the mysterious noises and bumps were part of the arrangements!
Two issues however:
i) The grounds are not well lit and so walking after dark can be a bit tricky and even dangerous, given the uneven ground. My wife's iPhone light proved most helpful for us and other visitors.
ii) The young man who was our Tour Guide was very good and informative, but perhaps needs a lesson on servants' roles in any great house, whether in Jamaica or in Europe. Yes, the thought of having to carry chamberpots full of other peoples' "No.1s and No. 2s" (as he put it), is demeaning and unpleasant. But it was not just slaves who had this task; it was generally required of servants in any aristocratic or wealthy persons' house, even into the 20th century, After all, indoor plumbing and London plumber Thomas Crapper's flush toilet were mid-Victorian innovations, not universal until about 1900 or even later.
It has been noted that on approaching Versailles, for example, on a warm summer day during France's "ancien regime", the thing first noticed was the smell of human waste. People went behind curtains to relieve themselves and an army of servants - likely French peasant serfs - removed the filled chamberpots.

This is an interesting tour. Tells all about the White witch who took advantage of they killed her slave lovers. Legend has it her spirit still roamed the hallways. Got a book on her and it is very interesting. Knew women "could be" deadly, but this one really was.

Highly recommend this tour.

took the evening tour of rose hall which tells of the story of Annie who murdered 3 husbands, some scares but was worth it just to drink the potent witches brew at the end of the tour

A good few gift shops selling everything you need. There is also a liquor shop selling coffee too. Lovely little walk to visit the donkey and have a picture taken. A few benches outside the shops whilst you are waiting for your return coach.

A neat look into an infamous place. This Plantation has a sorted past and a bright future. The guide was very good but the Home was a bit creepy. Hard life livin' with a beautiful view.Stop down in the dungeon for a witches brew and a laugh with the bartender. Of course keep and eye out for Annie!
