This was our first time to Jamaica, but not to all inclusive resort. We are 33 with no kids and love to travel. We've been many times to Mexico and had a variety of resorts to compare this to, it met all our expectations and more!
Rooms - Spacious, clean, great closet storage, double sinks, large bathroom. No alarm clock, bring one from home if you need it. Housekeeping was consistent with towel art and turn down service. No complaints. We were on the 4th floor, with a great view, and enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the day unfold.
Grounds - Beautiful, clean, and all flowers in bright bloom for April. The grounds people work so hard daily to make everything crisp and new. The pool surround is swept of sand and mopped every morning for the fresh day ahead. The beach is combed every morning of seaweed and is very inviting.
Beach - We are beach people and really enjoyed the nice long walkable beach. The water right now is as warm as the air. The oceans beautiful greens and blues are so relaxing and look like the postcards. The snorkeling off shore near the rocks is great. We brought our own snorkel gear, and snorkeled every morning. Many starfish, lion fish, puffer fish, barracuda , and large variety of tropical fish. This resort has very convenient snorkeling. We paid to do a snorkeling excursion, and the daily morning snorkeling at the resort was better! A banana from breakfast will attract fish for the kids to see.
Food/Drinks - We were satisfied with the food selection. They are catering to many people and there is something for everyone. We really enjoyed the Beach Reggae Lunch on Monday and Thursday. The jerk pork and chicken were fresh and authentic. The energy of the steel drums, dancing, and blue water as a background, is heavenly. Aunt Ruby's steak house had a great tenderloin and the coconut shrimp at the Cajun was delicious! The drinks were good, many varieties. Beer selection is Red Stripe, Red Stripe Light, and Heineken in the Lobby Bar. Room Service 24 hours, limited menu but nice when you need a little something.
Staff - Very accommodating and warm. The bartenders and servers around the beach and pool are great - always smiling and singing. There is a great vibe all day for whatever you wish to do. The Star Friends - Happy Feet, Mo-Mo-, OMG, Ki-Ki-, everyone....they enjoy their jobs, and you can feel the energy. We have been to many resorts were the "fun staff" are not so fun, and walk around in a daily daze....these guys were high energy day and night. They really make you feel included. I watched as they interacted with the kids, (when no parents were around to put on a show), and it was genuine. They do a great job.
We did a shopping trip to Mo-Bay through the resort for $16 pp, 3 hours. It was good, three different locations and something for everyone. Chukka Tours Zip Lining $91 pp - really fun. The tour guides make it! Also did the Dreamer Catamaran - snorkeling with trip to Margaritaville. The water slide is AMAZING - so fast, so fun!!! My husband and I felt like we were 12 again!
Overall, this is great place for couples and families. If you like adventure, and are open to new foods, and new friends, this resort can be anything you make of it. We will be back to this resort for sure. We were sad to leave paradise behind.
