Attended a wedding that was held on the beach of the resort, my week's stay was great. Excellent service and very pleasant staff. The meals were enjoyable and the mini bar and snacks were replenished every day. I definitely would return there.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the pool area and the beach. it could be a bit noisy if the doors leading to the balcony are open, but once they are closed, you don't hear a thing. If you want the doors to the balcony open and cannot take the noise, I suggest you get a room elsewhere.

We've been to Iberostar Grand Rose Hall twice now and absolutely love this resort. If you are looking for a place that's easy to get to from the east coast (only 3.5 hour flight from NYC), is right on the beach, want top class service and great food, this is the place to go!

Upon your arrival at the resort, which is only about a 20min drive from the airport, you are greeted with a cold towel and welcome drink. The hotel has a lovely, grand reception with marble floors and you immediately realize that this a classy place. Check in is quick and easy. You are assigned your own personal butler who tells you a little about the hotel facilities and how things work, and who is available throughout your stay should you want or need anything.

Both times we stayed in an Oceanview suite, which is amazing. The room is very spacious, with a table, sofa, large, comfy bed (bit on the soft side), tv, minibar, and huge bathroom with a rain forest shower, jacuzzi and two sinks. My favorite part about the room though is the oversized balcony. It has a couch and table, as well as a comfortable swing, where you can relax after a day at the beach and take in the view. The rooms (and the entire resort for that matter) are in great condition and kept very clean. Cleaning is once a day and there is also turndown service at night.

My only gripe about the room is the wifi. While it has much improved since the first time we were there, for the first day of our most recent stay the wifi wasn't working at all. When we told the reception about this, we were told that that's just the way it sometimes is for some people. I guess they were right, because sometime during our second day it started working. No problems with wifi after that.

The food at the resort is really good. There's a buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner and for dinner they have a number of restaurants as well for which you have to make a reservation (Italian, Japanese, surf n turf etc.). If you are travelling during peak times, plan to reserve in advance of your arrival or right when you get there as the restaurants do get fully booked. We love the buffet, it's one of the best we've seen, both in terms of quality and variety (especially breakfast and dinner) and so we usually don't bother with the restaurants. The dinner buffer has a different theme every night, but there's always a Jamaican station as well as some other staples to keep everyone happy. For lunch, in addition to the buffet, there will often be something set up at the beach, such as a BBQ or jerk stations. One thing to keep in mind is that people at this resort tend to dress up a bit for dinner. Men will wear button-up shirts and slacks and women will wear dresses, particularly at the restaurants. I personally don't like wearing anything dressy or formal when on vacation, and the first time we hadn't really packed for it either, which is why I am mentioning it. You can dress down though as long as you don't show up in your swimsuit.

While the resort's beach doesn't have the whitest of sand or bluest of water, it is still really nice! It's a private beach, which means that there aren't people trying to sell you their stuff every ten minutes. There are plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas if you want to sit in the shade. You can do as little or as much as you want at the beach. There are water activities such as snorkeling and kayaking, and the resorts entertainment staff, Star Friends, organizes beach volley and other games and gives aerobics/dancing classes, among other things. They work really hard to make sure everyone has a good time and have great attitudes. Another nice thing about the beach is that there is drink service (try the Jamaica Smile), that is more consistent and faster than we've experienced at other resorts. At the same, there a bar right at the beach so if you don't want to wait, getting a drink yourself is really easy. While we spend most of our time at the beach, the resort has a pretty nice pool area as well, with a swim up bar and plenty of chairs.

One suggestion is to bring some $1 bills for tipping. The resort is all inclusive and tips aren't required (like they sort of are in the US) or even expected, but all of the staff works really hard to make sure the guests have a great time and tips are definitely appreciated!

All in all, this is an absolutely wonderful resort and we will be back!

Room Tip: Oceanview suites are very spacious. The ones on the first floor don't have as good of a view of the ocean as the higher up ones, but it's still nice enough and you're closer to the beach and other hotel facilities.

It was truly satisfying in all aspects! Our wedding was executed to perfection by Syrecka and her team! They did an amazing job for us and we would definitely recommend anyone to hold their wedding there. These seem to happen on a daily basis and only one per day. She made our day go smoothly and we will never forget our choice to get married here! The grounds, the food, the cleanliness and staff make this place a true getaway! We were there for 2 weeks and really felt like we got to know the staff. It was also nice to have the option of going to the other 2 Iberostar resorts, as we had family and friends staying there as well. My husband especially enjoyed the lamb chops! YUM!! All a la carte restaurants were delicious and the service was impeccable!
FYI-- as an added special touch, those of you getting married may want to consider lighting off Chinese lanterns with your guests! We did them on our wedding night and also the following night. These must be biodegradable in order for you to use them off of the beach. These are truly magical and set the mood for any special event! WOW!

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade upon check in. It doesn't hurt! We got one for free!! (It was our wedding, too!)

We took this trip as a couples vacation/wedding. It was our first vacation without our kid, since our own honeymoon 9 yrs ago. The staff - butler service, concierge, pool service, buffet service, a la carte service, spa/salon, etc. AMAZING! By the end of the first day, the staff knew our names, our preferred drinks, etc. The wedding coordinator took the stress out of everything. The bride & groom truly enjoyed their day! It was spectacular! We are already planning our trip back to celebrate anniversaries. The rating does no justice for the true grandeur and quality of service you receive! Absolutely best vacation ever.

Been to Jamaica 5 times and this was the best resort we've been to in Jamaica so far. A great all adult resort with plenty to do and nothing to do if that's what you like. We've stay from 7-9 to 7-14 in room 5430; we were upgraded upon arrival. We stayed in the oceanfront ste, the rooms are big and the restrooms and balcony are too. The butlers were great the whole trip and made things easy. The food was pretty good...special thanks to the ( i forgot her name :( I’m sorry) smoothie bar attendant. She made me special smoothies with protein because I'm a little health nut every morning for breakfast. That's sums it up about their customer service. I never asked her to do that for me; she just decided it would be a nice jester and I really appreciate it.

The property grounds were always clean and the pool area was nice. Plenty of beds and chairs to either lay in the sun or catch shade. The Beach was nice as well...not as pretty as 7 mile in Negril, but was beautiful nonetheless. The entertainment staff was always full of life and had great personalities. The staff walked around taking drink orders consistently while laying out buy the pool or beach. They would bring, cakes and pies pool side to serve the guest...just because! That's the point.....the place was great, but what made it DAMN good was the extra effect that they didn't have to do. I have NOT ONE negative thing to say. The Resort is rated high for a reason.

Keep in mind....when reading reviews some people will accidentally mistake this resort with the sister properties next to it. I like the properties next door, but they compare. One resort is called Rose Hall and this is Rose Hall GRAND....big difference. Enjoy your stay...we will be back

Room Tip: Every room is a great room....most rooms have views of the ocean
