“The perfect hotel, for a perfect vacation!”

We couldn't be happier with our choice, now that we have returned from a 2 week vacation at Iberostar Grand Rose Hall. This was our first time in Jamaica, and everything was absolutely PERFECT!
Yes, the facilities are wonderfull, big confortable rooms, big confortable beds, amazingly tasty food (and we rarely like the food away from home), great entertainment. But what makes this hotel absolutely wonderful is the staff. They really are there to make you feel happy, special, and to attend any request. Polite, well educated, professional people that take what they do seriously and give an extra star to this hotel.
A special wod for our buttlers, Randy and Darwin. They were nothing short of amazing :)
We had an amazing time, and will recomend Jamaica, and Iberostar Grand Rose Hall to anyone!
Thank you Iberostar, Star Friends, and all the staff! We loooooved JAMAICA! Yah Mon!!!

Room Tip: All rooms are great. Oceanfront, 2nd floor or above is even better.

In 2010 Andy at destinology booked my holiday for my 50th birthday at Iberostar in Jamaica.I was a bit reluctant because for the pass 8 yrs I always celebrate my birthday in Dubai.For some excellent, surpurb,good reason I was on my way to Ja.As I say omg.this is one of the best hotel on the island.Iberostar,Staff, food,activities everything in surpreb.On my recent visit everything is as good as before.the best on the Island.Well done Iberostar Ja.

We had the privileged opportunity to visit the Iberostar Grand Rose Hall property from April 1-8, 2013. Every aspect was tended to with the utmost attention, care and pride by staff in all positions and levels, from our arrival to departure. Carter, Front Desk was very inviting, helpful and ensured we had a perfect room for our celebratory vacation.

The cleanliness of the suite, restaurants, property throughout, & washrooms in particular (especially the frequency by the pool) was supreme. The personal service, manicured gardens, pool & beach maintenance (raking by hand) was commendable. The a-la-carte restaurants had a lovely ambiance, distinction, and flare, not to mention delicious high quality food choices; equally, the morning and evening buffets were organized and spacious with an array of delectable items to satisfy any palette.

We chose this resort to celebrate my 50th birthday and our 25th wedding anniversary. The personal attention made us feel as though we were the only people on the planet. Balloons, heart shaped origami, rose pedals displayed about and a prepared bath ….optimal in romance. We also appreciated the daily bulletin displaying acknowledgements.

We would like to acknowledge some of the many employees that made our stay fantastic and memorable.

Night houseman: Aishane

Dancers: Jodi Ann (shining star), Levon (outstanding), Bobbi (newly hired & was a gem with clients), activity staff, didn’t get the names of the others unfortunately (all were smiley, energized, enthusiastic, & extremely talented).

Activity Staff: Peter, Mr. Fresh (Brandon), Lucky, Diva, Kiki, Shortcake, Bubbles - all were extraordinarily friendly, helpful, joyous, motivated, lively and filled with fun & emotion.

Restaurants: Amoy, Judene (Breakfast Buffet); Rayon (chef) & Opal, Server (Surf and Turf); Junior, Damian, Anthony (Evening Buffet); Manager on duty (Spanish accent, smiley, quite handsome!).

Pool Bar – Nordia, Kerry, Cremere (spelling ?); provided each of their special drinks with a smile and timeliness

We felt like a king and queen and will recommend this resort to all our family, friends, and co-workers. It was better than we could have ever have hoped for.

Butler? Never saw one. To be fair, there was a man at the door one evening when we were getting dressed and I said it was a bad time. Never came back. Told to book reservations for dinner but every time we tried, was told they were totally booked until 9:30. We were able to go early without a reso and be seated most nights. Water didn't drain properly in the shower. Not enough usable plugs for charging phones. Had to unplug lamps to charge phone.
Very good food and wonderful talented staff were pluses

We often remind guests that since each Butler serves an entire floor, leaving a note with your Concierge regarding the best time for your Butler to meet with you is also very helpful. We also encourage guests with Butler issues or concerns to ask to speak to our Public Relations Manager who manages both the Concierge and the Butlers. Communicating your problems before you leave our hotel provides us with an opportunity to find solutions for you to be able to have an enjoyable vacation as well as, help us to serve you better.

Reservations are required for the restaurants especially during busy periods – based on your review, it would appear you were able to be seated because someone else cancelled their reservation or did not show up. In the future you are also free to e-mail our Public Relations Department to do restaurant bookings via pr.grand@iberostar.com.jm

We stayed at the Iberostar Grand from 04/18-04/22. When we arrived, we were greeted with cool towels and a wonderful gentleman that took our bags and walked us directly to the front desk for check-in. We arrived early so our rooms weren't ready yet. The person at the front desk walked us over to the lounge where they had mimosas waiting for us. They suggested we go to have lunch at the buffet and check in with them after that. We had a great lunch and then waited at the pool until our room was ready.

Here’s some information about things we always like to know:

Rooms
We were in room 5135 which had an ocean front view. There was a palm tree in the way so the view wasn't all that great but we didn't spend much time there anyway so it didn't matter too much. However, we probably wouldn’t spend the extra money for that view a second time.

The rooms were beautifully appointed and very clean. They were serviced in a timely manner each day and offered turn down service at night. They have robes and slippers for each guest and the closet space is great! Plenty of room for clothes along with a good supply of hangers. They also had an ironing board and iron. The water pressure was great the whole time and never had an issue with getting hot water. The beds were also super comfy! I haven’t sleep that good in a long time.

Service
The service at this hotel is wonderful and everyone is so friendly! We were treated so nicely by Sonia, Jordin and Melissa at the pool (hope I spelled all your names right). Thank you for taking such good care of us!!! The star friends were great too! Very funny and always came around to encourage you to participate in the activities but never pressured you in any way. They just try to keep things light and fun. It worked!!! We were so happy and content spending our days at the pool.

The butler service was okay. We met Stanley our first day who got dinner reservations for us at one restaurant but said we needed to wait until Sunday to book the Surf and Turf. That confused us a little since they recommended that you make reservations in advance as much as possible but we just figured if it worked out fine, if not, we wouldn’t worry about it. We also asked him to customize the mini bar with our favorite drinks. He said he would take care of it but at the end of the next day, nothing had been done. All we had to do though was call the concierge/butler line. Within five minutes someone was at the door with everything we asked for. Since the mini bar is refreshed daily, I just made a practice of leaving a note above it with the items we wanted restocked and they gave us exactly what we asked for.

Another nice touch was that the night before we left, they called to let us know that someone would be up to get our bags at 7:15 the next morning for our check out. They knew we had an early flight that day and were facilitating a smooth check out for us. Much appreciated! Also, during this call they asked how everything else was going. My husband mentioned that he was a little hungry and would love some snacks for our room. A few minutes later there was a knock on the door. We opened it to find someone standing there with snacks in hand. Talk about feeling special!

Pool
The pool was excellent with only one exception, the chairs saving issue. Like many other hotels, there is an issue here with people reserving chairs at 7am and then not showing up until the afternoon. The staff go around periodically to pick up towels and do their best to monitor the situation but they won’t remove towels when there are personal items with them. This does make it a little difficult sometimes to get spots with a hut which are really nice because with that sun, you need a little shade here and there. If the guests would just be considerate of each other and only use the spots when they are actually at the pool, there would never be an issue. Unfortunately, they don’t so you find yourself feeling like you have to play the game if you want a good spot. The only suggestion I have to fix this issue is to put a sign out that all towels (including personal items, will be removed from chairs that haven’t been used for more than two hours and that the personal items can be picked up at the pool house upon description of the item, with no guarantees). They do have a sign out now asking guests to be considerate but unfortunately, most are not paying attention to this. I think if they knew their personal items would be moved as well, that might stop people. Tough spot for the hotel and an issue at many but I feel like this is the only thing that would solve it. Other than that, they have an excellent supply of towels, they never run out and give you as many as you want which is really nice. The service and activities were always great!

Food
The food was great! They have two buffets and both are excellent. One is closer to the pools and is open air with an ocean view. That’s where we had most of our lunches. The other is inside the hotel. Everything at both buffets looked and tasted so good, it was simply impossible to stop ourselves from filling our plates (which we did at least twice every time we dined). :) We only ended up having dinner at one of the specialty restaurants, the Italian. That was really good too. We would have tried the others but really liked the option of going whenever we liked and since the buffets were so fabulous, they suited us just fine. The buffets are full of just about everything you could imagine, from sushi, a variety of high quality cooked meats and fish (including crab claws and shrimp), a pasta station, salads, burgers and more. They also put everything out in smaller plates and refill things frequently so you know what you are getting is fresh. I appreciated that a lot.

The breakfast buffets include a station for eggs any way you want them with a variety of fresh veggies for omelets. They had also had hash browns, other breakfast potatoes, bacon, different variations of eggs benedict, crepes, a meat and cheese station, all kinds of fresh fruit, pancakes, waffles, you name it, they have it.

We had room service only once for breakfast the day we left. It was great too! They delivered exactly at the requested time and the food was hot and tasty.

Overall
I can't say enough about how nicely we were treated by absolutely everyone from beginning to end. We felt like family and will absolutely be returning. Thanks to all of you at the Iberostar Grand for a wonderful vacation! We have nothing but love for all of you! We'll be back and will be staying longer next time!!!

Suggestions for guests that stay here

1. If you don’t have what you want, just ask for it! They are really great about accommodating requests wherever possible.

2. I know that tipping is not required but it certainly is appreciated. These folks work harder than anyone I've seen in a very long time and are certainly deserving of something a little extra. Please tip those that are going out of their way to make sure your experience is a good one ! We noticed many during our stay that weren’t tipping anything and it just didn't seem right to us.

If you are going to Jamaica without kids, this is the place to go. Incredible place with outstanding employees. Food is great. Booze is all top shelf. The place is only a few years old. If anyone has a complaint....they must be real hard to please. I was talking with some of the staff. It is the place everyone wants to work at. Therefore their people are top notch and don't leave. They attract the best of the best. Played golf 4 times. It's 10 minutes away. The airport is only 20 minutes away. Big plus. Definitely would go back. Soon.

This resort was very good in every way. The staff was friendly and outgoing, the rooms were excellent, and the food was also great. The only other comment I could make is that the musty smell in the rooms could be fixed if the hotel were to run the A/C units in the rooms more.

Nothing a little air freshener woulld not take care of.

I would definately go back to this resort
