I have been to Jamaica twice and both times my family and I stayed at the Iberostar. The entertainment is tops, the rooms are spacious and clean, and there are so many amazing things to do while you visit that you will never want to leave. No complaints.

We stayed at the Iberostar Grand for five days, our fourth trip to an all-inclusive in the Caribbean in as many years. While the others are also rated “five stars” here on TripAdvisor, the Grand was so far superior we can’t imagine the bar being raised any higher.

The quality of the food in the restaurants and at the buffet was excellent. At the “Surf and Turf”, we ordered lobster. They’re tropical ones, not the cold water lobsters. We asked them to just broil them as usual, no sauce, but butter on the side. And just keep bringing them ‘til we tell you to stop. Mmmmmm. The biggest restaurant surprise was the Italian, where our seafood entrees were specially prepared to our specs and where the we found the best service of all. We heard no one complaining about food service. About lobster – there’s a season for lobster and the season is closed from April 1 to June 30. Then, you get shrimp.

We enjoyed lounging around the pool and found the chair-saving-drill at 7 in the morning, widely reported elsewhere, to be a fact of staying there. One morning at 630 we found most chairs already “reserved”, which actually required guests to be sitting on them. The guest to chair ratio is high when the property is filled to capacity, and there’s not much more that can be done about it. Water in the pool was as expected - cool, but swimmable. In all our travels we’ve never found a heated pool at these resorts. Water temperature is seasonal, depending on the angle of the sun.

We liked meeting people from around the world and making new friends. Everyone we met was respectful and enjoyed engaging in interesting conversations. The adults-only feature was appreciated.

Once you have made your reservation, you can arrange your restaurant reservations and other amenities at the Iberostar Grand website. Among other things, you can tell them what kind of pillows and how many, and what you want stocked in the mini-bar. You will need a reservation number and the name of your booking agent to complete the on-line process. After completing your requests, wait a day or so and a confirmation will come.

There is a “butler service” available, as reported in other reviews. The butler seemed to be always around, asking if we needed anything. We chose not to use this service since we could find our way around much on our own. The concierge at the desk was good for arranging details. Here’s a “fun fact”. There’s no self-serve ice machines at the Grand. If you want ice you must call the butler and he brings it to you. So, we went without ice in our room. We thought that was funny.

Though we are not sure why you did not utilize the service of the Butler, especially when you needed ice, we wanted to remind you that the Butler service is part of your all-inclusive package. Ice Buckets are already inside each room and should our guests need ice, the Butlers would be only too happy to assist to ensuring you have ice. On your next visit, you may also consider leaving messages with your Concierge as to what you would like your Butler to assist with.

we have just got back from the Grande it was our 7th time there, excellent as usual. we would like to thank Santo and all the staff for the excellent service. The food quality is excellent pleanty off choice for everyone. the rooms and pool area are very clean and well maintained. butler service is excellent. all round a five star holiday we will definitly return. eddie and pauline

The people were very nice. The room was amazing. The food and drinks were top of the line!
The hotel gave us a room upgrade because we were on our honeymoon. We had a private pool right out back of our room! The only thing that they couldn't make perfect was the weather. I can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: They upgraded us to one of the best rooms because we were on our honeymoon.

We celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary by spending a very relaxing and lovely time at the Iberostar Grand Rose Hall hotel. The food was delicious, with a wide variety of food being offered. We particularly liked the variety of the dessert offered at lunch in small sizes, which allowed us to take multiple desserts without feeling stuffed and gorged.

The rooms were fantastic, comfortable, clean and spacious. The room was very quiet, allowing us to have a very nice sleep.

The grounds are beautiful.

We cannot say enough about the wonderful staff at the hotel. They all catered to our needs with a smile. The impression that we got was that the staff was there to serve our needs. “No problem mon, we are here to take care of your needs, just relax and enjoy”

We cannot wait to return next year.

My husband, myself and my brother stayed at this resort on vacation from saturday march 23-30 inclusive. My brother travelled with sunwing and his flight was on time, however our flight with westjet was delayed for 6 hours in Toronto. We arrived in Jamaica approx. 7:10pm and luckily we had booked the MOBAY CLUB SERVICE which made it very easy and efficient to clear Jamaican custom department. Upon arrival at the resort we were welcomed with lovely smiles and check-in was quick and efficient since we had already been assigned a room. We were pleasantly surprised when we entered our room and realized we had a private pool. The room was extremely spacious and clean and at that very moment, we knew that our vacation would be fantastic. After a couple days we were upgraded to Oceanview rooms. We had no problems getting reservation at any of the restaurants, as a matter of fact we went twice to both the Seafood and Japanese restaurants. The Buffet had a wide assortment of food both hot and cold and the servers were always available if we had any concerns or questions. The beach is just great and all the beach services were efficient. My husband and brother did a couple tours and they had a great time ( visited Don-River, Bob Marley estate, Appleton factory, WS falls and Zip-lining.) Room service very efficient and the room bar a welcome treat. Every employee we interacted with at this resort treated us with respect and was always smiling and eager to help make our vacation special. In general, I would highly recommend this resort and although there are some negative reviews and I do feel bad for those who had to go through that experience, I suggest that you do not let that deter you from vacationing at this resort, because we will definitely be returning there on vacation sooner than later.
We would like to thank everyone who helped make this vacation quite a memorable one. Special shout-out to Katrina, Dane, Kiki, Jullette( whom I did not meet, but spoke on the phone with,) Jerry and William.

Our trip to Jamaica, staying at the Grand has been one of my faviourites so far. We usually travel around the world, and dont visit the same place twice -- but if we were to break the rule once, it would be at the Grand.

Rooms: very luxuriously appointed, good size, king bed, with separate seating area, and awesome veranda (roofed deck), where we spent a few lazy mornings. The bathrooms were excellent as well, with his/hers vanities, jacuzzi and shower stall. Some people have noted that the curtains are extremely heavy -- I would definitely second that - there were days when we woke up in pitch darkness when it was bright and sunny outside.

Amenities: we didnt try the tennis courts, but rather spent most of our time in the pools -- the view is great, and you wont feel like going anywhere else. The beach is also a good option, but on our days there it was a little windy. Boating, kayaking, snorkelling is also available and included. I tried the kayaks, which were fun for a bit... there are not too many waves in the area, so it does not get exciting. The "activities" staff is quite energetic, and try hard to get people involved in games... volleyball seemed the most popular. The wait staff is very attentive, and always trying to make things better!

Food: most restaurants are good -- we enjoyed the Japanese tepanyaki the best. Surf and Turf was good too (as many others have noted). Make reservations the day you get there (or even in advance of getting there, if possible). The breakfast buffet was excellent -- we did enjoy breakfast in the room as well (highly recommended if you want to spend a lazy morning)

Butler: we had a butler 24h, but we didnt really know how to use him. He was there to "take care of all our needs".... we did get him to run a bath for us (incl. champagne + candles + petals) which was fun. Would recommend trying it!

The minibar was stocked with drinks, but as we are not big drinkers, didnt make use of it.

The only hitch for us was the ride to and from the airport. The bus was rickety, and took forever, as we picked and dropped folks at other hotels (Grand is one of the last stops). But not a big inconvenience in the Grand scheme of things. :)

I would highly recommend this resort -- you will not be disappointed. We have been at the Iberostar in Mexico, which is very comparable. This is not a big city 5-star hotel, but you wont find much to complan about. Ya mon.
