“Top notch all inclusive”
Reviewed March 9, 2013 via mobile

We visited here for our annual "get away from the cold" trip. We usually try to find an all inclusive in a warm climate. This was one of the best, if not the best in the last almost ten years. No limit to specialty restaurants. No extra hidden charges ever. No credit card up front. No charge for room service. Unlimited room service anytime. No towel cards. Friendliest people ever. The only inconsideration I saw was from other guests who left towels on chairs all day even when they had no intention of returning and no one else could use the chairs. An employee picked the towels up at 5. Since there were no towel cards no one worried about the towels and left them lay. All in all, fabulous place

Dear Guest:

Thank you for choosing our property for your recent winter “get-away”. We are proud of our legacy for meeting the discerning needs of our guests, so it was quite motivating to read your feedback. We were proud to hear that you enjoyed your restaurant experiences and hassle-free environment. Your understanding of our beach/pool chair situation was duly noted – we have been asking for our guest’s assistance in communicating to our Pool Concierge, when they observe other guests who have saved chairs and not returned. This will assist us in removing those items and making space for others without beach/pool chairs.

We look forward to serving you again and hope you will not hesitate to return.

I expected to want to find a starbucks ASAP after getting back to the states. But, I was missing the coffee from Iberostar instead! Great capuccinos and espressos as well. I loved how the resort was not too big. You could quickly and easily get to all the restaurants, pool, bars, shopping with a short walk. Not troublesome at all to run back to the room from anywhere. Yes, if you wanted the best spot by the pool, you had to get up early to reserve spots; usually at least one of the persons from the group stayed with the towels, books and such. But, if you didn't want to reserve a spot early, you could always find a good, close spot. It was never too crowded. The food was better than expected. The gym for work-outs did not match the rest of the resort; very small. I was lucky enough to be there when they had a guest from the states instructing cycling every week day. We had a great group of people who wanted to play beach volleyball everyday as well. The nightlife was very fun. A central, busy bar in the lobby with music. Just a fun atmosphere for the night life. I was surprised that any wine besides overally sweet, cheaper wines was not included. My husband who booked the trip was aware; I was not. Spent quite a bit of money to get a good glass of wine with dinner each night. But, the food was so good I wanted good wine to go with it!

Dear Guest:

Thank you for your kind review. We are motivated by your recommendation of our hotel. It was especially inspiring to hear that you enjoyed our coffee, food, gym and exciting array of activities. We are aware that there is an issue with the holding of beach/pool chairs and have been asking the Pool Concierge to remove the towels in instances where the chairs are unattended for long periods. However, we remind guests that they will not always get the chair of their choice.

It was a pleasure to have hosted you and we look forward to serving you again soon.

I have been home for a week and trying to make plans to come again. We were two older female travelers and we always felt "safe" there.....we have been to several other all inclusives but nothing like this one. Don't know what the other Iberostars are like but we loved this one and will be back. The beach, rooms, restaurants, activities....all more than we expected. The staff goes completely out of their way to make sure you re having a wonderful experience....all smiles all the time....including the other guests. So, absolutely don't hesitate. I have not stopped talking about our fabulous experience or stopped bragging about the shows....very professional productions. The Pirate Party on the Beach was phenomenal.....don't miss that!

Room Tip: We stayed in 5033--- ground level---next time will go up a floor or two only for a different view.

What more can I say, all the reviews here are on point. This resort is the best we've had the pleasure of staying at.
My husband and I stayed 7 nights at the end of Feb. We were welcomed warmly and efficiently. We booked and ocean view room and we were placed in 6404, on the top floor with a center view of the ocean plus the entire pool area. Rooms are huge. Double closets with mini bar area between (coffee, juice, soda, alcohol, plus potato chips and doritos). Large bathroom with his/hers sinks, jet tub, separate shower with rain head. Extra comfy bed, flat screen tv (with canadian channels), large balcony with couch and hanging seat. Draperies close up so tight and dark, you're quiet surprised to open them in the morning and see the beautiful bright day outside. The housecleaning staff were in twice a day, so always fresh towels. We didn't utilize our Butler too much, but he did find us each day to ask if we needed anything. (We did make one request that was taken care no problem).
The pool area was great. It was set up in three levels, the back section was quieter and shadier. The middle section with sun and some of the activities (don't miss the daily water aerobics). And the beachfront pool bar sections (don't miss the magic carpet Tue/Wed in the late afternoon, what a blast!). I believe the resort was booked, or nearly so, we did find that the typical resort chair reserving was in force and had to be out by 7am to get our choice seats for the day - (our only complaint really, but that goes on everywhere). The pool drink service girls were great, you always had a drink in your hand if you wished. They must walk miles and miles every day. A special note goes to Jodian at the pool, her smile and extra friendly service made a difference. The bartenders everywhere, pool, lobby, lounge were great too. The cleaning staff at the pool washrooms did an outstanding job. I found I could walk in with bare feet and feel comfortable, when I'd never do that anywhere else. As far as the food, we found it above average on a whole. Both buffets were very good. We found the amount of different selections made for a good turnaround time so things were fresh. The omelet stations were great in the morning. There was a beach buffet one day that had jerk chick, pork & beef and was good. On Sat there was a jerk chicken BBQ set up at lunch on the beach and it was outstanding!! We did eat at all four restaurants. We liked the Japanese the best (our chef, Jason was great, best fried rice we've had ever!), the Italian second (our waiter Karim was outstanding), Gourmet third and Surf N Turf fourth. We heard people rave about the surf n tuff, but we must have had an off night as it was just average. We attended every show while there for the week and enjoyed them all. On Thursday night the have the pirate beach show, which is fun. On Saturday and Tues nights they have a reggae band out at the pool bar that was great! (FYI -Sat night on the Suites beach is a dance party - lots of fun). We booked a day tour at the hotel with the JTL (I think) group. We did the Cool Running/Dunn's falls trip and had a great time. The guide and driver were very good, the trip to Ocho Rios was about an hour, so we got to see a small bit of the island along with some history on the way. But, I have to say the most impressive thing about this resort is it's staff. Everyone here was outstanding. The star friend staff were terrific!! Besides being your activity staff, they actually made time to be 'your friend'. The Jamaican people were very welcoming anywhere we went during out trip.

My wife and I stayed 5 nights beginning March 1, 2013. We were looking for somewhere to relax and do absolutely nothing other than people watch, lay in the sun, eat and drink. We have stayed at several 5 star all inclusive resorts in different areas of the Caribbean and was hoping that this resort was as good as the majority of the reviews. It is a marvelous resort and the majority of the reviews are right on the mark.

All of the staff are genuinely friendly and eager to please. The rooms are nice and clean and as far as I can tell every room has an ocean view. The first two floors may have that view partially blocked by the palm trees. Housekeeping did a good job of straitening up the room while we were out and we never noticed them.

Restaurants - I'm not a big fan of Italian food but was pleasantly surprised by the selection and quality. I was also thinking that I need to get my friend who owns several higher end restaurants to take the trip down and hire Kareem the waiter away - what great service and what a draw he would be to any restaurant. Also Patmar and Damian Miller were great entertainers and cooks at the Japanese restaurant; Patmar can make some serious sushi and Damian also participates in one of the shows. I am a Surf and Turf kind of guy so we ate there twice, the first time the food and service was good as expected. The last night, Tuesday, not so good on either and I can see if that was someone's first experience they might be disappointed. The quality of food served at the two buffets is top notch for buffets and I could have eaten there for most of the meals and been happy. If you stay at the Grand you also have access the Suites and the Beach's restaurants and bars so you have a lot of variety.

The resort is well maintained. It is not so big that you have to walk miles to get anywhere. The staff around the pool and ocean are wonderful. And I wish I could remember everyone (too much rum.) Short Cake is a real ball of energy around the pool and Oneil is a great bartender at the pool bar. I would recommend the Iberostar Grand Rose Hall.

We have been to many Iberostar resorts, this one was top notch. beautiful rooms, excellent service, nice beach. Proximity of rooms to pools, beach, restaurants, spa made this one of the nicest Iberostar hotels yet. Food was excellent and we enjoyed a great excursion day at YS Falls and Pelican Bar courtesy of Joe Cool Tours. Would highly recommend the Grand.

Room Tip: All rooms have nice views, but if you have reserved an ocean front room, be sure to ask for an upper...

I echo all the positives outlined in the other reviews.
Loved the size of the resort...well laid out. not too big and not too far to walk to any part of it.
Shout out to Kennesha who provided drinks beach side. She even went over to the restaurant to get me hot tea for my sore throat. Watch for Natalie's amazing cake served in the late afternoon poolside. She is a sous chef but i am sure her smiling face & coconut cake with warm rum sauce will assist her to work her way up the ladder.
Daily room service at 7:00am with hot coffee ensured a leisurely wake up on the balcony.
Lobby bar...prompt service & yummy drinks
Food...professional presentation. Tried all 4 ala carte but enjoyed the Surf n Turf the most..vg rib eye steaks.
Thoroughly enjoyed the ackee and salft fish with dumplings each am..and the fresh sour sop.
Wish that they had served jamaican stlye ox tail more often.
A big thanks to the ladies who worked tirelessly to keep the beach/pool washrooms clean...amazing..
Only negative...the palapas on the beach are way too close together...I would prefer more personal space.
My first stay at an IB property...but definitely not my last.
Well done.

Room Tip: 6412...we got the morning sun which we preferred...even though it was not ocean front we had a good...
