Description: The beach and atmosphere are paradise, but the food at this restaurant, heaven - I dearly recommend anyone in the vicinity to stop over at this cutely decorated restaurant, and relish the delights that the Chef will cook up for you!

The chef gives different versions of the typical cuisine of Bahia and other states of Northeastern of Brazil. A little expensive, but very veryy tasty. Service is lovely.

This place does not serve that homemade food you see everywhere in the city, but a international class cuisine - Bahia style. If you have to choose a Chef of Bahia style of Brazilian food, this the place you will find. Nice combination of a seashore restaurant and good food. The Bahia spiciness, with delicate flavors all combine ina simple dish called Moqueca.

The food was expensive and not as good as other places in the town.

We were a party of nine family and friends enjoying the last evening of our Brazillian holiday and chose to eat at the Terreiro Bahia restaurant because of the Trip Advisor reviews.

The meal was excellent; nearly everyone rated the meal to be the best of the holiday.

The service was lovely too.

What a lovely way to end our holiday.

Almost twenty years ago, some of the finest brazilian restaurants created the Associação da Boa Lembrança (Good Memories Association), inspired by a similar italian group (Buon Riccordo), in which the costumer receives a decorative clay dish if they make the correspondent choice in the menu (one different dish per year per restaurant).

Me and my wife collect these dishes for 7 years now, from many different places (from Fernando de Noronha to Brasília, from Belém to São Paulo), and we always thought it was a pity that in our home state, Bahia, there was no member of the association.

That changed in 2010 when Terreiro Bahia joined Boa Lembrança.

The restaurant offers a regional-yet-sophisticated proposal that is currently widespread in gastronomy, with great chefs using their high cuisine techniques with local ingridients to reinvent traditional dishes.

It is not as reinvented as in Paraíso Tropical, another great bahian food restaurant, but Terreiro Bahia serves smaller portions than usual, with a more delicate presentation and a distinguished chef's touch.

I'll be back to take 2011 decorative dish, as, when we went, they were still with the 2010 option.

I had a problem with the payment (I was double charged by the credit card), but the chef-and-owner Tereza Paim was very honest and efficient in solving the problem as soon as I made contact with her to tell the situation.
