Great little 20 minute hike around some beautiful native plants. We stood at the chimney pot and giggled every time it blew water into the air... fun time, remember to bring money for the donation box.

Stopped here on our way down the West Coast.
The pancakes were good, though the castor sugar on top was just a sweetness overkill. However my partners chicken wrap consisted of the wrap, three chicken nuggets some cabbage and one piece of lettuce, for $8! Coffee was ok though so average overall.

Having pancakes by the famous Pancake Rocks in Punkaiki is probably not only a classic but also a cliche. Even more surprising that those pancake were actually REALLY good! The service wasn't though... But over all - it was a much better experience than expected.

Stopped by after walking around the pancake rocks. The menu isn't very large, pancakes, pizza or fish and chips. Went with fish and chips. The fish was cooked well and the chips were a bit softer than I liked. The pancakes were also nice but needed more maple syrup with each serve. The hot chocolate wasn't very chocolately though.
The cafe also had a gazebo area which had more space for seating.
You would normally have to pick up the food when the buzzer goes off but the waitress brought if over for us since she wasn't busy.

Had to have the buttermilk pancake stack and it did not disappoint! Great service by the staff and a lovely spot to stop off on the drive
