Thank you for dining at Tree Monkey Restaurant @ Tropical Spice Garden. This restaurant is indeed a kind like no others. Upon the arrival, you will need a slight walk up the slope which would cause inconveniences. However, car could be drove up to the base of the stone ways to drop the elders.

“Tropical Spice Garden Cooking Classes are tops”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2012

The cooking classes offered at Tropical Spice Garden Penang are tops. The classes are generally small, the cooks and assistants friendly, and the management are most helpful. For anyone with a more than passing interest in cooking, and in Malay and Nonya food, these classes provide a fascinating introduction to most interesting cuisine. The classes start with a tour, which is well worth-while, proceed with the class and then finish with a meal of the food you have helped to prepare in the open air. Highly recommended.

Thank you for joining our cooking class! We have learned and analyzed for years and eventually concluded that a tour with cooking class and a meal is a very interesting experience for those who want an uniqueness during their visit. Food is always a closer link or best way to understand the local cultures and lifestyle.

“Great garden and food, friendly helpful people”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2012

Our visit to the spice garden was outstanding right from the start. We made a booking at the last minute and staff got back to us promptly to confirm our booking. We toured the spice garden early in the morning and again staff and our guide was very knowledgeable and informative. The garden is quite beautiful and restful and we got to see spices that I knew about and had used but had never seen grown, as well as some new ones. We then took the cooking class, with lots of advice and attention from our instructor. The best part, however, was the meal we cooked and ate in the lovely surrounds, best food for the whole trip.

We are so grateful that you loved the tour and the cooking class. Cooking with spices is always the essential of Malaysian foods and it could be very tasty! We hope that with the cooking experience, we could share the local cooking cultures to the world.

“What an awesome class!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 16, 2012

It's the first time I took a cooking class during traveling, and before this I have no idea how much a cooking class worths. I have to admit that 200 ringget per head for the class was expensive comparing with other spendings we did in Penang - this is the thought we had BEFORE the class!!!

AFTER the class, my friends and me all agree that this cooking class was the best moment we had in our four-days Penang trip!!! The class worths far more than this price!!! You know what the teacher Pearly is awesome no matter the skills, the experience and most importantly, the attitude towards cooking. Thanks Pearly, thanks Tropical Spice Garden.

Hi Jeff. Thank you for joining the Tropical Spice Garden Cooking Class and the sharing. We were hesitate to sell the class at RM200 initially but we are really working on a margin. After running a few classes, we were totally confident that this isn't expensive at all providing with the experience, food quality, unforgettable moment etc the guests receive. We know we are providing the best (at least our best) for every single guest. I saw at the school taking a few snaps during the class and I saw the cheerful moments all of you had. Hope to see you again in the future. Cheers!

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2012

Followed others advice and did the tour... our guide was funny, charming and full of info. We had a great time here, learnt some new things, saw some beautiful plants and had a good laugh. Well worth spending an afternoon or morning.
