“good experience at the pavilion”
Reviewed February 15, 2014

it was our much awaited outing on the eve of our first marriage anniversary and we were at the pavilion(from 01 to 03 February 2014--3 nights). we had selected this hotel after going through the reviews at the TripAdvisor and we were not disappointed at all. we got a very room for our accommodation. location was also very good. the hotel is very good and our room was really good. the facilities like warm water, room heater, restaurant, help-desk, room service are very good. staff is very cooperative. it was very cold in the out but we did not feel so because of the room heater. the food served including the breakfast and the meals were really good. desserts were outstanding.we missed a chance to visit their bakers hut because of lack of time.

Room Tip: as such all the rooms seem to be good. select a room on the higher floor like the first floor

Dear Sir,

First of all "belated anniversary wishes" to both of you. I am glad you enjoyed your special days at The Pavilion. The dessrets were coming from from BAker's Hut so you did try Baker's Hut, but I hope you will drop in next time you stay with us.

I stayed at this hotel for a night on 12th Jan'14 (the day it snowed). On arrival, I was booked under a Balcony room which I was upgraded to a Garden Facing Room by them. Not just that, I had arrived at around 8 am at the hotel and hotel staff was very courteous to give me an early check-in.

The food at the hotel was good with clean room being the USP. In all, turned out to be a good hotel to opt for..

Dear Sir,

Thanks for writing such a positive review for The Pavilion, our policy is to keep our guest happy, so a early check in is a norm if we have rooms available, its not good to keep the guest waiting at the reception if the room is available at that time. We hope to see you again soon at The Pavilion.

Thanks,

I stayed during 2-4 January in park facing room. Room and bathroom was spacious. Room service was also good but TV has no DTH connection which is major drawback. Main door of room should also have automatic locks which was lacking. Bath tub was provided which gives you extra pleasure. One main problem it is situated far away from mall road. You have to walk very high to reach hotel. On second day I took car with family and parked in stadium so that on return I can use car. Hotel has very good parking for guest' s car and swings for children. Overall satisfied.

Dear Sir,

I see you enjoyed your stay at The PAvilion, thanks for mentioning that for fellow travelers. You mentioned doors, yes automatic locks is something we can look into. Thanks for the suggestion and DTH is definitely on my mind. We have learnt so much from our guests and grown as a result of listening to their needs. Your response keeps us going. Thanks,

Dear Sir,

Thank you for taking time out to write such great comments on The PAvilion, will pass your regards to Ramesh, he has been with us for quite some time now and carries our mantra of service directly to the guest. About the LCD's, well we do want them in all our rooms(we have them in balcony and heritage suite rooms) but the economics didnt work out, we added BAker's hut to the hotel this year. But thanks for mentioning it, I will keep in top priority for next year.

Thanks,

We checked in into the hotel late in the evening on New Year's Day - weary after a day long travel from Munsiyari. It was very nice of the Hotel reception staff to allot a room which would involve minimum climbing of stairs. They also assured that they would arrange to serve all meals in our rooms given our senior citizen status. We soon discovered that this message had been communicated to the restaurant staff. When we ordered for dinner, the restaurant bearer informed us that he had been instructed to see to it that all meals ordered are served in the room and that we need not go down the few steps to the floor below where the restaurant was located - even for the buffet breakfast! In fact during our 2 night stay, the courtesy & politeness of all the hotel staff we interacted with was simply great.

The room was spacious & the hot air blower was effective. Though the toilet was small, it was clean. The room illumination could be increased a bit and may be a hand towel could be provided in the toilet. The cable TV reception was poor - may be a DTH connection could be provided

The food was good and was real value for money. Service was excellent except for the fact that the morning tea is served not before 7:30 am.

The Hotel is very well laid out. Though old in style, it had an air of old age aristrocracy. The well maintained gardens & childrens corner probably makes it ideal for all ages. The hotel has sufficient parking space & though it does not provide complimentary accomodation for drivers, rugs & facilities for freshening up are offered free to drivers.

The Hotel is not far from the Mall, the Lake side, the Naina Devi Temple and the point from which one needs to take the cable car to go the Snow view point. However, there is quite a slope one has to negotiate to get back from all these places to the Hotel - certainly a bit difficult for senior citizens like us.

All in all it was a very satisfying homely stay at the PAVILION.

Room Tip: Perhaps the rooms on the first floor with a balcony facing the Lake side (not visble from Hotel) are...

Dear Sir,

You review made our day, it says so much about how much we try to keep our guest as ease. Some times we may not succeed but the thought is always there. Thanks for appreciating that. Coming to the DTH, a lot of guest are asking for that, we will look into it and try and work out the economics of installing it. But till then we will have to make do with the cable connection we have. Thanks again.

We stayed at Pavallion as we had 100 student study tour of Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai in December 2013. It was wonderful stay at this Hotel. Rooms have a very artistic interior. very good taste of painting on the walls. heaters were in good condition. Nice LCD Tvs. Good neat and clean bathrooms. The best thing of the hotel is the Garden....... Its the best. flowers, benches, swingers. the lawn. and the last if cake shop.
Good hotel but only one drawback, location- too much walking from mall road. actually not much distance but the you get tired as you have to climb the road.

Room Tip: Take a garden facing room to have a hot coffee or tea

Dear Guest,

Thanks for your positive comments, I saw a lot of students drawing and painting while they were here. Was wondering if we could get some interesting sketches etc mailed to us(if there is any such possibility). and I also hope to see you again some time soon.
