The room was very nice except for the decidedly weird King bed arrangement noted below. The staff was always friendly and helpful. Faucet water is not potable, which was fine, but filtered water was provided only the first day as two small water bottles. We had to ask each of the next tree days for water!
The restaurant was the biggest disappointment as it is buffet only. One price, regardless of how much, or in our case, how little you eat. Left-overs kept reappearing between lunch, dinner and the next day. Meals were often ready late, up to an hour, beyond the advertised time. Food in the steam trays was sometimes brought out cold. Breakfast was the best of the three. For lunch and an early dinner, the palapa restaurants next door on the beach had much better food at much better prices. They start to shut down at sunset, however. Most guests appear to have opted for the all-inclusive meal plan, but after the first day I was glad we didn’t.
Over-all, the hotel’s beautiful location makes up for management shortcomings.
