“pampered in the sun”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

We have just returned from a wonderful week in this hotel. The hotel is much bigger than we have ever used before but the organisation by the staff made it not a problem.
We enjoyed the service provided by the waiters who were very quick to make sure you had everything you required in the lounges and the dining room. It is also the first time we have had all inclusive and could not believe the selection on offer.
Our room turned out to be a bungalow on the waters edge with wonderful views over the water. There were a number of children among the 800 or so guests but because of the size of the complex we never felt that we were with that number of people and never had any problems finding sun beds or peace and quiet.
We enjoyed the food though some people felt the choice was limited.
It was very easy to go to Corfu town which is a lovely place to wander around.
This is a place we would like to go back to in the future

We stayed at the Corcyra Beach for 7 nights from the 3rd June. Having stayed in the Louis group hotels before ( Ledra Beach Cyprus ) we expected good service and we were not disappointed. The staff both in the bar areas, reception and in the restaraunt were both friendly and efficient. The room we had was fine with a sea view. It was cleaned to a good standard every day. The food was of a good standard and there was a good variety. We were all inclusive and the drinks were fine ( although I think I could drink about 100 pints of the larger and still be sober.) So you may be better to stick to the shorts and cocktails. The entertainment was not the best, but im sure if you have small kids they will love the mini disco etc. We had a nice trip to Corfu town with Spyros on his boat from the marina, on A friday evening which is worth doing. On an evening if you are looking for a bit more fun, then a vist to Melodies in the village is a good choice. Great fun, a good singer, and Karioke. I know it means paying for your drinks, but dont be so tight, you've paid to come to Greece so whats a few quid more!!. The pool areas at the hotel are both good, the top lagoon style one is quieter. Anyway just to sum up. If its a good fun family holiday you are after in a nice hotel, then go ahead and book it. However if you are wanting a lively nightlife then maybe somewhere else might be better. Enjoy your holiday.

Room Tip: Go for a sea view on a high floor

We stayed here for a week from 7th June as an addition to a cruise on the Thomson Majesty (also fantastic). We had a very spacious room (836) in a block separate from the main hotel very close to the Lagoon Pool. It could have been a family room for up to 4 people with an area which could be blocked off by a sliding door, The furnishings were modern with ample storage, including a small chiller fridge. The king size bed was a little firm but this is better than too soft.
The food in the main restaurant was excellent, with themed evenings Greek, Italian etc. Sit outside if you can as the view over the bay towards Albania is stunning. The All inclusive option works very well and is available through all your waking (and some of your sleeping!) hours. It includes good coffee, juice, purified water and ice ceam all the time so is very good for those with children. The Asian restaurant which can be booked if you fancy a change from the main or snack restaurants was acceptable but not outstanding. There is a good variety of food on offer and there is always meat, fish and vegetarian options, loads of salad and other veg. Don't miss the Greek Delights section with all sorts of typical specialities.
There are 2 good size pools. we used the Lagoon Pool as it was close to our apartment and had fewer children than the other pool which was situated by the Kids Club. Sea access for swimming was available althought the water still a little fresh at this time of the year. Sunbeds were plentiful and there were always some available no matter what time of the day they were needed.
The whole complex was spotless at all times, maid service was every day and nothing was ever too much trouble for any of the staff. We felt very welcome and it is easy to see why so many people were "returners" to the hotel. I think we will probaly be among them!

Dear guest,

We are grateful to receive your feedback about the Louis Corcyra Beach.

It is a joy that you found our rooms spacious with modern furnishing, and our entire complex spotless and well maintained. We are thrilled to hear that our All Inclusive option was worthwhile and our varied food in the main restaurant did not leave you indifferent, and you especially enjoyed our Traditional Corner with its various Greek delights. It saddens us that our Asian restaurant Mura did not impress you, but please be informed that our Louis Hotels Quality Manager will personally visit the restaurant next week to make any necessary improvements.

We are happy that our hospitable staff made you feel very welcome, and we hope they have done enough to earn a return visit from you in the future. We are looking forward to seeing you very soon at our property.

All the best from everyone at the Louis Corcyra Beach.

This was our very first visit to Corfu and this hotel. I was not disappointed at the four star rating. The hotel and the complex as a whole is on a hill, our room (361) was at the end of a carpeted corridor that kept foot traffic noise to a minimum, but you can hear doors being shut etc... There is no lift to the five floors, so check before you book if stairs are difficult there are other areas more suitable if difficulty getting about etc...

Room basic, very clean and kept that way all week, could do with blackout blinds, stunning sea view and would recommend that a room with a view is booked. All staff we found to be very kind, helpful and knowledgeable of the area, all very, very polite, just brilliant.

Entertainment not too bad, the 'Three Tenors' were excellent and only marred by unruly children/parents/adults who fell out over the same during the show, the Hotel needs to consider whether the children show that ends at 21 30 is a suitable time and consider a better time/planning for this.

Food was excellent, good variety, hot, plenty of self serve wine, beer and soft drinks, quite frankly the food is a credit to the hotel. Mura is a separate venue on site, Asia food freshly cooked and should not be missed, you need to book with the hotel, it costs nothing, just bloody brilliant and ate there twice.

Three good (albeit cold) pools, sun beds were easy to find and plenty of space too, good beaches on top of all this.

Gouvia was a bit of a one horse town, but we ate out once at 'Leons' again good food and atmosphere although the service a little slow. Take a bus (no 7) to old town 3 euros for a return and tickets from the hotel shop. Twenty minutes on the bus (stop less that ten minutes away). Busses can be packed depending on the time of travel. Taxis are expensive at twenty Euros each way

Old town is great day and night (packed during the day)...Plenty of restaurants, shops etc...Shoppers paradise in fact...Be careful as prices vary to cater for the Cruise liners etc and the rich Americans.

On the whole a great place to visit, a very good hotel that lives up to its four stars, a great week ending the 14th June 2013 and will be back.

Airport going outward to home was just chaotic, Thomson/Airport really need to sort this issue out

Room Tip: Book a sea view room, book the Mura restaurant, go in to the old Town and experience the bus ride

We stayed at this hotel on 7th June for a week. It was lovely, we stayed in a bungalow(118) and the sea view was amazing! The room was a little tired, but for us a room is just for sleeping in so it was no problem at all.
For the people on trip advisor who have said the food wasn't great, don't know what you're talking about, we have stayed in many different hotels of different star ratings and I have to say this was definitely a four star rated hotel, so much food to choose from, a different theme every evening, the staff work tirelessly, breakfast had plenty of choice, from continental to full fry up, one of the few hotels I have been to that had mushrooms and proper baked beans!!! (Although no one can master bacon like the Brits). Lunch could be eaten in the main restaurant or by the pool areas, all very nice.
We used both pools and the beach and like others have said, we didn't have any trouble finding a sun bed (although I don't think it will be that easy in the peak season)
All inclusive drinks were great, you could help yourself to beer, wine and soft drinks or there was someone on hand to serve you with anything else you required.
The entertainment was hit and miss, the only evening entertainment I would recommend would be the Il Divo tribute, they were absolutely fantastic.
I think I've covered everything, apart from saying I would definitely recommend this hotel, just for the views which are breathtaking, for the staff and management who are there to look after you, it really was lovely.

The only thorn in our sides had nothing to do with the hotel, it was the return flight from Corfu airport! what a pain in the neck it is, we had to queue outside the terminal for about 45 mins, thankfully in the shade, then we had to queue for another 40 minutes to get our cases weighed, then you have to keep your cases with you and take them through a security check ( that was quicker thankfully) and then it was straight through to board the plane so no time in duty free. God know what it is like at that airport in peak season, you would think it could be more organised than it is.

Dear guest,

Let us thank you for commenting on your recent stay at the Louis Corcyra Beach.

We appreciate your flattering words about our varied food and our theme nights, which you enjoyed the most. It is also a delight that our All Inclusive drinks were to your satisfaction, and you really liked our 'Il Divo tribute' performance, however we regret that in general our entertainment program was a miss for you, we are taking your remark on board and will inform our team about your dissatisfaction.

We appreciate your recommendation, and hope to welcome you again to the Louis Corcyra Beach.

Kind regards,

Returned home tonight...........We arrived at the hotel after a weeks cruise looking for a relaxing week after quite a hectic one. Four of us travelling together could not fault the hotel for the friendliness of staff, cleanliness and appearance. The food was lovely and plentiful with a great variety. For those with walking difficulties the hotel is on a hill. There are some rooms close to the restaurant, bar and reception. We would definitely stay again if we return to Corfu.

I stayed at this hotel in May 13 - June 13 with my husband and 9 yr old daughter. Here is a snapshot of my experience:
Good points
- Fantastic staff, attentive, friendly and good fun !
- Lovely view from seaview room (recommend you pay the extra for this)
- Good selection of plenty of food in restaurant (although buffet style)
- Lagoon pool relaxing and quiet (no music played here or any games etc) although snack bar choices at this area were limited - but fantastic ice-creams !
- Although man made beach - it is clean and very quite and really lovely to watch the boats sail in and out of the nearby harbour
- decent room accommodation - but a bit dated and lacked wardrobe space even though there was only 3 of us in a room intended for 4.
- Lounge areas/ terrace absolutley lovely sit and relax in during the day and night time - with gorgeous views of the bay.
- ITV channel on the TV in the lounge area (channel 5 )
- Good selection of drinks for all inclusive
- Boat trip from the hotel - Captain Spiros on Dimitri boat - great value at 18 Euros for adult and 10 Euro for children. Leaves at 13.15 everyday and returns at 17.15 - trip to either North or south of the island.
- visit to Corfu town - well worth a visit - fantastic town loads to see and do - great selection of shops bars and restaurants, only 20 min on the bus for 3 euros return. Bus stop is 5 min from the hotel.

Let down points -
- 49 euros to hire safe in room for 14 nights
- Gouvia a bit small - although there are some shops restaurants and bars close by - but not much choice
weather - very mixed - heavy rain and cloudy days and not much to do when this happened - although there are 2 pool tables in the lounge area
- internet connection in lounge area very slow - 1 euro for 16 mins - but it got locked for most of the time so you actually only got about 10 mins.
- Insufficient storage space in room - bit of a squeeze and TV only had CNN as an english speaking channel
Pool near the beach overcrowded and a bit full on - although snack bar here was pretty good.
- 10 euros per hour if you want to keep your room for late check out on last day.
- Kids mini disco didn't start until 9.00pm - which was a bit late - the children are strating to get tierd at this time !
- No lift in some areas of the hotel.
- No gym

We enjoyed our stay and had a very pleasant holiday at this hotel - if you are thinking of visiting Corfu you won't be too disappointed if you choose this hotel. If I am honest I have stayed in slightly better (for the same price and type of accomm) but equally I have stayed in worse.
Lacks a bit of luxury and comfort in the bedrooms - but overall this is a pleasant hotel - the staff are really friendly and great fun to be around.

Room Tip: Make sure you book a room with a seaview

Dear guest,

We would like to thank you for choosing the Louis Corcyra Beach for your holiday in Corfu.

We are delighted to read that you enjoyed a relaxing holiday on our beautiful island with your family. We are happy that the various drinks offered on All Inclusive basis catered for your taste and you enjoyed our selection of dishes. It is also great to hear, that while spending a relaxing and quiet holiday, you also spent some time discovering our stunning island. We thank you for all your praises of our staff and we are overjoyed that they provided you with wonderful service throughout your stay. Your suggestions about the speed of internet, selection of TV channels, entertainment during rainy days and the timing of the mini disco will be taken into consideration for our future improvement. We chose to charge extra for services such as safe hire, late check-out and internet instead of including them in the room rate as this is optional for guests and not all wish to use these services. Despite this, we are relieved that this did not prevent you and your family from enjoying your holiday with us.

We appreciate your recommendation and will be looking forward to seeing you again at the Louis Corcyra Beach.

Regards,

The Management
