Louis Corcyra Beach Hotel
Ranked #2 of 17 Hotels in Gouvia
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed August 11, 2011

We spent two memorable all inclusive weeks in Corcyra Beach with our 8 years old son. We really loved this place.
The hotel is located by the Gouvia Bay. The view is breathtaking, specially from the main terrace (hard to believe it wasn't made in Photoshop).
Our room in the main building was basic but very comfortable and clean.
The hotel staff were very kind and helpful. They all worked very hard but they were smiling all the time. The atmosphere was very friendly.
Pools are very nice - clean with a lot of sun beds. One is smaller but deep, the Lagoon Pool is much bigger but safer for younger kids. The hotel beach is also nice and clean (sand not stones).
The main restaurant (breakfasts and dinners) is just great. Food was amazing, extremely delicious! Me and my wife preferred tasting Greek cuisine, our son international and we all loved it and had a great choice. I still cannot forget the tastes of Mussaka, Tzatziki and delicious fishes...
During the day there was lunch by the pool area and grab & go (also very tasty).
The main bar and the pool bar staff were very friendly, drinks were delicious.
There were lots of daily activities at the down pool area with the animation team. For those who didn't like water exercises and loud music - the Lagoon Pool was a great place to swim and relax.
In the evenings there were animation team shows and mini discos for kids. Also nice and funny.
Although hotel is great and you never get bored there, don't forget to visit: Corfu (amazing city, charming streets), Kanoni (breathtaking view), Palaiokastritsa (lovely bays) and Achilleio (Sisi's palace).
Corfu is a small island, so you can get everywhere you like in short time. You can rent a car or just go by bus (blue line to Corfu; ticket costs 1.5 Euro).
Finally, special thanks and best regards to bartenders Maria and Tasos, waitress Ewa, Alexia from the A-Team and all the anonymous heroes from the kitchen staff!
Thank you very much for the great holiday!

Stopped at this Hotel with Thomson on AI basis.
The approach to the hotel leaves you with the "what have we come to " feeling but that soon disapears when you walk through reception and see the beautiful setting.
The hotel is laid out over a large area on a hillside leading down to a small man made beach.
Our room 553 is a large family room with a double bed and 2 single beds in an easily sectioned off part of the room, this leads out onto a large balcony and the most wonderful seaview.
Room was clean as were all the public areas
All the staff we had dealings with were excellent from the reception through to the waiters and bar staff. Food great and loads of it and always available. Like the fact that you just help yourself to lager, water, soft drinks and coffee.
The hotel has 2 pools and loads of sun beds meaning that there was often vacant beds at reasonable times of the morning!
Plenty of gift shops and restaurants in the area and Corfu Town is easily reached by local bus at a bargain 3 euro return. There is also a nice marina close by to walk through at night dreaming of that lottery win purchase.
Would like to thank all the staff for their help and attention throughout our holiday, also a special mention to the kitchen staff - your Pittta Gyros with Tizaki is lovely.

We were a party of 4 adults 60+ and 2 adults 35+ with a 12 year old girl. The hotel was great with beautiful view's, the food was really good lot's of Greek options as well as others always something for everyone. The rooms and public area's were kept really clean, towels for bathroom changed every day. There is a 10 euro deposit for each pool towel required.

There is 2 pools the Lagoon pool which has lots of beds and the snack-bar.

The other pool and beach are down 21 stairs ( sounds like they were awful lol ) but that was the only downfall for us but once down it was lovely with gorgeous view across the Lagoon to the open sea. The staff in all area's were always polite and helpful. We were based in Gouvia which was 5 mins down the drive to lots of shops and Taverna's. All 7 of us loved this hotel and would definetley recommend the Louis Hotel Group

Room Tip: We were in room 671, for 2 adults and the room had 1 double and 2 single beds in it and there was st...

Louis Corcyra Beach Hotel is in general a very nice all inclusive hotel with a beautiful location and a quite and safe atmosphere. We went there with our 2 boys on 2 and 7 and we all enjoyed the stay. The boys actually complained about going to the beautiful sand beach in Glyfada; they both wanted to get back to the hotel :-)

The good:
* Perfect food. Really, really good food - both for breakfast, lunch and dinner - and both healthy and junk food choices around the clock.
* Dining area under
* Drinks are real Pepsi and 7 up as well as local orange soda. Beer is fine as well.
* Beautiful view
* Fine watersports - not cheap, but with a keen focus on safety
* Nice swimmingpools. A lagoon area with no seaview and 1 children and 1 real pool with seaview
* A beach. Although manmade and with a concrete wall to the sea it's a decent experience.
* Close to Gouvia. Gouvia is not fantastic, but it's just 3 minutes away from the hotel
* Close to the airport - easy transfer
* Nice boattrip directly from the Hotel to Corfu city from the watersports pier.
* Quick reaction on broken down air condition. We got a new room in 10 minutes and the air condition were fixed the following morning.
* The shows are great for children
* Playground is ok for children
* Plenty of sunbeds, but you need to be part of the "reservation game" in the morning if you need more than one close to the pool.

Be aware:
* It's not a real sand beach. They only exist on the other side of Corfu (to my knowledge).
* When ordering sea view, try to ask for the bungalows closest to the see. There are many partly seaview bungalows sold as seaview.
* There's a substantial difference in the state of the family rooms. The rooms in the main building are much nicer than the one we had in a bungalow, which was a little worn out (although no sea view in the main building).
* The show is fine for adults, but... it's not Cirque du Soleil ;-)
* As promised the wine is local and it's good that it's cold, but... after a few days I could use an alternative.
* Childrens house is mostly reserved for Thomsons vacation and the room for non-Thomson is at best a shelter from the sun, with very limited options for play apart from drawing.
* The hotel could do more to prevent the "reservation" of sunbeds by removing all towels from sunbeds not used for an hour. There are plenty of sunbeds, so it could allow for a lot more flexibility to move from one pool to another without missing to have a sunbed at all.

Would I go back? Certainly with children. It's convenient and easy, works well with great food and Corfu has a nice climate and plenty of nice places to go with children.

Room Tip: Family rooms have partly separate section for children with to beds. If you pay for seaview try to a...

We have just returned from a fantastic holiday here. The situation is amazing and the views are breathtaking. Our two boys aged 6 and 12 loved the pools, the crazy golf and the food!
The staff are really lovely. The rooms were basic but spacious and clean. The beach and the sea are not typically Mediterranean- don't expect clear water. It is a man made beach and is more like a lake than the sea, but still very pretty and the guys at the water sports on the jetty are brilliant! We really enjoyed our trip to Corfu town one evening in the little boat Demitris that goes from here, well worth doing!
If we were going to be at all critical, the animation team tried hard but to be honest we were a bit bored by them in the first week. The dining room is really chaotic and more like a Rugby scrum- I would suggest if you want a relaxing dining experience go as early as possible! and both our boys had bleeding feet after going into the Lagoon pool for a couple of hours-take plenty of plasters or some water shoes.
Overall we would like to say thank you to the staff who work so hard in this hotel and never seem to have a day off!! We had a very memorable holiday and will hopefully return one day!

We stayed here the first week in May, but i don't think the hotel was ready to be taking paying guest, firstly as we arrived in our room which was in the main building and had been refurbished so i can not complain about that but out on the fire escape there was workmen painting which looked into our bathroom which had clear glass windows i went and asked the gentleman on reception if we could be moved he just said i would have to come back tomorrow but he could not promise anything as there was more guest coming at the weekend , so we just made a makeshift curtain with a towel
An alarm went off every morning about 6.30, for some reason, i think it was from the kitchen
we went on the football pitch for a kick about and was told to get off it was not ready yet, the Jacuzzi pool was filthy, the children's pool was full of leaves my husband got a net and fished them out while the lifeguard looked on
There was no entertainment on a evening for our 3 year old but in the daytime the Thomson kids club was great
As for the all inclusive that was a joke breakfast was served 7am until 10am and if you missed that there was nothing until 12.45pm lunch was then served until 3 pm then nothing until 7.00pm when dinner was served until 9.30pm then if there was anything left they just put it in a cabinet outside the dining room.
The food was good although sometimes a little on the lukewarm side and there was plenty of choice the salads were always fresh and plentiful
The reason we booked AI is that we took our 3year old granddaughter who is a poor eater and i thought if she could eat outside the normal restaurant hours at least i know she was eating something
Another reason i booked this hotel was because of a comment on this site from the manger of Corcyra beach saying that they were going to have Grab and Go: This brand new concept at Louis Hotels will be available by the pools during the hours from 10:00am until 6:00pm and will allow guest to grab quick bites between meals and eat them at their leisure. There will be a different daily menu, which will include sandwiches, kebabs, wraps, burgers, pizzas etc.
there was nothing like this no afternoon cakes or mid morning snacks
I think this could be a brilliant hotel the food, the cleanliness inside the hotel , the staff , the views , it could have been so different.
They were willing to take our money which we had saved for a special holiday but they were not ready for us.

Dear guest,

Thank you for visiting the Louis Corcyra Beach and for taking the time to share your impressions.

We are sorry to hear that your holiday at the beginning of May came too soon for us, as our hotel was finishing off the final touches of some renovation work which took place over the winter.

You are right, that the Louis Corcyra has the potential to be an amazing hotel and we believe we are on our way to achieving this. The stunning views, our friendly staff, our detailed room cleaning and of course our tasty food have given our customers this summer much to talk about.

We hope that during your next visit you will have the chance to savor all this, and especially our new Quick Bites concept, which is widely appreciated.

Best regards

Hello,

I can only recommend this hotel, we had an awsome time. Especially because of the good service of the staff. Special thanks to the assitent manager George who helped as perfectly to plan our trips during our holiday. The bartenders are super friendly and altough they work really hard, they are always serving with a smile! The one we can't forget to thank is Jorgo who works at the pool bar close to the beach, our Greek Antonio Banderas. Our kids also had a fun time in the kids club. See you next year!
