We stayed two nights here at the beginning of our holiday and in the end it ended up being the best hotel we stayed in. New, modern and with attentive staff, wonderfully located. We were received very well and there were three rooms left in the hotel and the receptionist allowed me to have a look at all them three so I could choose the one I wanted, yesss!!! I chose a corner room with views to the street, I really liked the shower and sink in the room, it gave an edgy look to the room. The free breakfast was great, very good quality bread and croissants, an egg machine so you can cook your eggs to your liking. But for me one of the best features of the hotel is their great bar and restaurant. It looks modern but cosy, I was a bit sad to see it empty on the day we arrived, but it is because it was Monday and they close, but on Tuesday it was open, we had a pre dinner drink and in the end we stayed, the food was great!! The staff in the bar/restaurant seemed to be a bit chaotic but it does not matter, the food, the atmosphere, the music, totally recommended for groups, couples and business. We had dinner in the bar but they also have a nice patio were they actually have the restaurant. Totally recommended if you go to Sete.

We stayed here for a couple of nights, and were very comfortable. We managed to book the room the same day via bookings.com and secured a good deal including breakfast. We had a lime green Panetone suite, which was perfect for our needs. Breakfast was a good selection of fresh pastries, cereals, eggs and yoghurts, but it would be overpriced if you paid full price! Parking is across the road in the underground parking which is a bit of a nuisance carrying your luggage. Very central location, so lots of good restaurants and shops nearby. Would stay here again

This hotel didn't really live up to expectations. We had arrived at Sete on possibly the worst day of summer i.e. it was pouring with rain and about 12C, much like home which is not what we wanted in the South of France.
The good points:
The hotel is centrally located so is an ideal base to explore the town. Staff at reception were pleasant as were the bar staff. The bar itself was excellent with very reasonably priced kir royales and tasty free tapas (it was such an awful evening we retreated to the bar in the hope the rain would go off - it didn't). The room (no 221 - a junior suite) was spacious and faced the inner courtyard so it was quiet (I suspect it wouldn't be in summer on a warm night as the bar extends outside).
The bad points:
If you are travelling in a car as we were, the hotel has no parking. Parking is over the road in a rather dingy, smelly public car park which was inhabited with numerous beggars. Having said that it was relatively cheap and the car was fine. Possibly because the hotel wasn't busy, the bar staff on the night we were in disappeared so we couldn't pay. There was also no one at reception so if we had just popped in for a drink, we could have just left without paying! Eventually a member of the kitchen staff walked past and saw us and obviously contacted a hotel staff member who came to put the drinks our room. The room decor was ghastly. All in shades of grey and silver with strange feathery growths out the bottom of the lamps on the wall. It was like a bad episode of the programme 'Changing Rooms' from the 1990s and the overall effect was to make what was a big room dingy and unattractive. The hallways of the hotel are all black as well which doesn't help. Breakfast isn't worth 12 Euros each - a poor selection of patisserie, a small fridge with a selection of one cheap looking ham and cheese and some truly awful coffee. Just go to one of the nice looking boulangeries/cafes in town.
Overall a disappointing visit and in the unlikely event of us finding ourselves in Sete again, we'd probably stay elsewhere.

We booked this hotel on the basis of the TripAdvisor reviews, however our experience and opinion is very different to those recently reported here. We booked a 'Junior Suite' but the only thing our room had in common with a 'suite' was the inflated price, which did not even include breakfast (12 euros pp) or access to the 'spa' (20 euros pp). The hotel is neither 'designer' nor 'boutique' unless your taste is a shabby room decorated in a muddy brown colour, grey carpets, and dingy dark corridors. Reception staff not particuarly friendly or helpful and were generally too engrossed in their own affairs to even look up as we passed the Reception desk. The only good thing about this hotel is the location.

This was our first visit to Sete. We chose the Hotel de Paris based on its location and the comments we read on Trip Advisor. We had a terrific stay. Firstly, the location is superb, right on the main canal and within walking distance of such an array of good seafood restaurants. Secondly, the staff were incredibly responsive, friendly and helpful both prior to arriving and while we were there. They all speak English. Alexandra was the staff member we dealt with most while we were there and she was very helpful. This is a boutique hotel that has recently had a major renovation. Every room has its own design. There is a nice bar where we enjoyed pre and post dinner drinks and a restaurant that we did not try but it looks good as well.

We stayed at Hotel de Paris for a one night getaway, and there was plenty good & bad with the choice.

The hotel is centrally located, and despite us having a room (in the monochrome styling riffing off a grey Pantone colour) on the second floor above the main road - all was quiet with windows closed. The bed was large and comfy, the room was funny/funky, and the breakfast in the courtyard was excellent. I felt it was a little over-priced, but this is pretty much the only upper-end hotel in the centre of town - c'est la vie.

Good stuff: There's a local food market, amazing seafood restaurants (many of which are not tourist/tacky), and plenty of things to do - some decent shops, boat trips, some form of boat jousting in the summer, and of course the long stretch of beach.

The bad stuff: Over summer the area is jam packed, so book early. The central parking costed 10 EU/night. And for those driving in, we had our vehicle broken into at the main undercover car park - so remember to wind those windows tightly, remove all bags (even if empty), and empty/open the glove compartment.

We would recommend this hotel, but next time might park elsewhere!

We were in a spacious 1st floor room. External noise was no problem, although the hotel is on the corner of a busy road. However a fellow guest's alarm did wake us one day! The shower is good, but is totally see-through from the bedroom. No problem for us, but some people might find it uncomfortable. The much vaunted courtyard was not accessible during the day, because it has been turned into the hotel's restaurant permanently.
Breakfast was extremely self-service. You got a tray and helped yourself. No tables were cleared and no staff ever appeared. If items ran out-tough! The egg boiler was poor and the choice mediocre.
The reception staff gave the impression of being totally disinterested.
However it was not all bad. The beds were comfortable and the aircon worked well.
