Went for the set 25 euro meal and wasn't disappointed. It was a meal to remember. We had oysters, lamb & a wonderful local dessert and it was all delicious!! The wine which the charming and friendly owner recommended was superb. Everyone one who worked at the restaurant were friendly and engaging and we will definitely be back back. What a lovely way to experience fine dining in Brittany. Booking recommended in high season.

Went this evening to sample the delights of this resturant. Well the reviews were right....fantastic food and the service was good with pleasant staff helping with the menu on the descriptions on the choice of food....will be back again. Go and sample the delights of this resturant you will not be disappointed.

We have taken to dropping in whenever we are in Pont l'Abbé. Can only echo previous reviewer who said "excellent food, professional service, nice deco etc." Lunch time menus are well priced and speedily produced. You will probably have to book in the evening as this new restaurant is already proving very popular with the locals but definitely worth it.

Having dined a number of times at l’essentiel, Pont-l’Abbé’s newest restaurant, I wanted to report that unlike a lot of restaurants in the area, the chef Bertrand Cossec, understands vegetarian food.

There are often vegetarian dishes on the menu. On our last visit one of our party had a delicious mushroom raviole, a single large ravilo, filled with chopped mushroom and other vegetables. While the rest of the party were eating delicious locally caught fresh fish, Bertrand Cossec, who spent some time in the US, produced a tasty, elegant salad, which included avocados, cold beans, tomatoes, several different kinds of salad leaves, and eggs, accompanied by an excellent dressing.

If you are vegetarian, it would be a good idea to tell the restaurant when you’re making your reservation. However, if you arrive without reservation, let them know at once and you will be able to discuss the day’s options.

There was a surprisingly buzzy atmosphere for a cold November evening, which was cheering and combined with a delicious meal it made our evening.

Such level of resto was missing on the region, it's solved now ! Excellent food, prof service, nice deco, very relax place, intelligent business lunch during the week and reasonnable price. High level resto, yes ! Accessible resto, yes ! What to ask ? Just going back !
