“Relaxing short break”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 4, 2008

My husband and I stayed at Palacio Blanco for a long weekend and we cannot fault it at all. Like many others we also saw the television programme and it certainly lived up to all our expectations. Nick and Lesley were lovely. We can only second all the good things that have already been said on this website. We had a lovely relaxing time and beautiful weather. The rooftop terrace was great and we enjoyed chilling out on the double sunbed one day (especially as there was some shade!). The local restaurants were very reasonably priced and we especially enjoyed El Carmen (the fish restaurant).

We enjoyed the fact that eveything was traditionally Spanish for a change!

It was a fantastic short break and we will make sure we recommend it to all our friends!

We are wondering when we can go back!

We have just returned from a 5 day break at the PB and would highly recommend it.
Nick & Lesley were great hosts and the hotel itself is wonderful, beautifully finished and furnished. The rooms are very modern, with huge super king size beds and a spacious walk in shower, there is a lovely sunbathing area on the top floor next to the pool/ roof top bar !!!, although the hotel was full with other guests it actually felt like you were staying in your own holiday home.
Everything is very relaxed no rushing down for breakfast, Nick & Lesley ensured that breakfast was available whenever you wanted it.
The town itself is beautiful, very picturesque with nice bars and restaurants, a very spanish town not a typical holiday resort, because of this its also very cheap to eat and drink.
We will certainly be going back and would recommend this hotel as a great place to go and chill out.

I suspect like a few others watched the tv programme about nick & lesleys epic struggle to change their 18th century building into a magnificent hotel. My wife and i were in spain and drove the 3 hours down to velez malaga and the palacio blanco. On our arrival we were greeted by lesley who made us coffee and explained about the relaxed and charming nature of the hotel which is very apparent. We were at home in no time, rooftop room, pool, sunbeds and honesty bar.Nick and lesley were always on hand if you needed any information but never in your face, they respect the reason why you are at the hotel, this is a place where you can unwind bigtime.Spent the next few days hunting down the tapas bars, sunbathing and swimming.Nick and lesley are two people with very high standards and that is reflected in everything that the hotel has to offer,it is a credit to all their hard work and vision.Would we go back again! too right, already booked for april 2009 easter festival, cannot wait, andy & di

I just spent 6 days at the unique Palacio Blanco Hotel chilling out, enjoying myself and having fun - even learning Spanish and Flamenco!! My lessons were organised by Nick, the owner, who contacted local teachers, and the teachers were most inspiring! Also, there are so many spaces at the hotel to chill out in, ie on the roof terrace reading a book in the sun or the shade, in the beautiful court yard open to the sky etc. The relaxed, friendly and informal atmosphere at the hotel, created by Nick and Lesley, suited me perfectly - delicious breakfast is served at the time that suits you! The interior & exterior design of the hotel are beautiful - and every room has a different feel - enchanting! Lovely restaurants with delicioso food and wine are just minutes away ... I will definitely be back! The travel there is completely hassle free, as Rafael, the hotel's excellent taxi driver picked me up at Malaga airport and brought me back there at the end of my stay. A brilliant holiday!

My wife and two friends stayed for a two night break at the Palacio Blanco. We are all expierenced travellers having stayed at a variety of ' first class' hotels and other establishments. The Palacio Blanco didn't dissapoint from the beautifully decorated rooms to the fantastic open air dining area, and the decked area on the roof with a 'plunge pool' ,bar, and breathtaking views over the mountains. What makes this 'boutique' hotel special is the attentive service of the owners. Essentialy the feeling is one of staying at a friends house and nothing is to much trouble. Breakfast times are flexible, and their knowledge of local restaurants is especially useful. We ate out on two occasions having excellent local food and wine at prices you would't believe in this country (I mean cheap). Overall do not hesitate to book, you will have a truly excellent stay. But don't take the kids.

Having watched the restoration of this beautiful building on TV, we took the opportunity to stay at Palacio Blanco for a short break.

The experience was indeed a pleasant one which offered beautiful surroundings and a hospitable welcome from Lesley and Nick.

Bedrooms are extremely well appointed and comfortable. The general ambience is most pleasing as a result of the high standard of decor and quality of finish which offers tastefully modern styling without compromise to the original characteristics of this truly stunning building.

The roof terrace is a superb retreat in which to relax and enjoy some privacy or converse with other guests.

Local amenities are all within easy walking distance including a variety of excellent restaurants.

A wonderfully relaxing stay.
