We stayed here for 3 nights as a base for touring Delphi and the surrounding area. This small hotel is located on a quiet, narrow side street. It's nicely decorated and it has a lovely interior shady garden courtyard where there is free wifi that works well. (There are a few mosquitoes in the garden, so it wouldn't hurt to have some insect repellent in the event that you encounter them.) We stayed in Room 7, which was very spacious. The main sleeping area and a sitting area were downstairs, but there was also a sleeping loft (for 3) and a kitchenette area. The bathroom was nice, and everything was clean and comfortable. Chrisoula is the consummate hotelier and is clearly someone who was meant to be in the hospitality business; she helped us with several of our arrangements beforehand and while we were there (including a car rental from Corner Rentals in Itea, who went above and beyond), and gave us tips on where to find nice (unmarked) beaches. She prepared delicious breakfasts worthy of all the raves they've gotten on TA and exuded the kind of friendliness that made us feel more like we were visiting Greek friends in the country rather than touring. (There was a problem with our air-conditioning on our second night, discovered too late to do anything about it, and she offered us HER bedroom so that we wouldn't be uncomfortable. We didn't take her up on that -- and slept fine in spite of A/C issue-- but that was typical of how far she'd go to make a guest happy. And the next day, the A/C was repaired within hours of our waking.) The signage to the hotel is good, which is helpful given the not-so-intuitive layout of all the little streets. I would recommend this to anyone headed to this area, particularly if you're looking for a spot to relax and slow down a bit. Great town, great hotel, and amazing hospitality.

My husband and I stayed at the Ganimede Hotel at the end of May while visiting Delphi. Galaxidi is one of the most delightful villages we visited in Greece. We felt like we stepped back in time as we walked around the quiet Old Town neighborhood where the Ganimede is situated. The harbor is peaceful and lovely in May. The Ganimede is a very small hotel and so you get excellent service. The signage for the hotel was great and so we found it easily. We parked on the street in front of the hotel. We heard music coming from a little theatre next door and we peaked in and saw children learning traditional folk dance. Sweet! To enter the hotel you walk down a lovely stone alleyway and into a charming garden. Our room was up a marvelous old wooden staircase. There are many beautiful details to the interior design such as gorgeous door nobs and a wonderful brass bed. The room we were in had 2 easy chairs, a dresser, armoire and queen size bed. The ceilings were really high and the paint choices were elegant and interesting. We had 2 little balconies. The bathroom was big and clean. Great shower. We walked to the harbor for dinner. My husband calls Galaxidi "exquisitely wrecked". ie wonderful old buildings and winding cobblestone streets. We found Ganimede Hotel to be perfect for our needs: peaceful, romantic, clean, with good service. We wish we had planned to stay another night. I rated sleep quality Very Good because there seems to be thousands of doves who coo all day & all night. Which could be considered a plus, but they kept me awake. AND YES! Breakfast is fabulous. Chrisoula makes all these yummy jams and tapenades that are super delicious! If we are ever lucky enough to return to Greece, we will stay at the Ganimede again!

Room Tip: Both rooms upstairs in the main house are lovely. We stayed in The Captains Room.

The Ganimede is a little difficult to find, due the one-way system. However, we stopped by a board advertising the hotel on the harbour front, and a man on a motorbike guided us up to the hotel. We managed to park right outside.

The central courtyard is a pretty and relaxing area, and the breakfast, which included fresh fruit, juice, a selection of breads, eggs cooked in a choice of ways, and of course the homemade jams and pickles, was delicous.

We found the staff to be friendly and courteous.

However, having been recommended to the Ganimede by friends, and finding it to be the No 1 recommended hotel on Tripadvisor, we were somewhat disappointed by our room. It was clean and decorated in a style to suit the building, but it was rather cramped. The bed was in the corner up against the wall, which meant that I had to climb in and out of bed via the bottom, a problem which was exacerbated by the fact that there was a fridge at the bottom of the bed. (The bed itself was firm, as was the pillow.)

Similarly, the bathroom was so small that there was nowhere to put our toiletries except on the floor between the wash basin and the shower, which is not ideal.

We found Chrisoula's B&B through Tripadvisor and were delighted that we did. It provided a terrific base for a 2 night stay with our twin 12 year olds for a visit to Delphi, having driven from Athens. After a long drive on the first evening, and an even longer day sight-seeing on the second, we could go for a refreshing swim in the ocean, wander round the small delightful village, or just hang out in the courtyard. Everything was spotlessly clean in the room, the facilities were just what we needed, and the breakfast was a delight. Crisoula works hard to provide for her guests and it shows in the service you get.

We spent two nights in the Ganimede hotel and enjoyed it very much. Chrisoula is an excellent host and knows what makes a guest comfortable.
We were upgraded to a large apartment with a view of the courtyard. It's nice to know that the hotel does not leave it's best rooms empty. The room was nicely furnished and the large bed was comfortable (beds in Greece are often to firm to our liking, but this one was ok).
We liked the courtyard with the flowers. The breakfast there is great, with homemade bread, chutneys, jams and other things, but we also enjoyed the bar. Chrisoula serves drinks, cocktails and small dishes from 6 to 11. Beer and wine are not cheap, but they're served with a big plate with small bites. For us a great place to relax and read a book with a drink.
Galaxidi is a nice small harbour town with several restaurants. We visited because we wanted to see Delphi which was a great choice. Delphi is close but the town has not much to offer, the atmosphere in Galaxidi is much nicer and not as touristy. And when you choose Galaxidi the Ganimede hotel is a great choice.

We were made to feel very welcome with a glass of home made lemonade in the beautiful courtyard garden on arrival. We were given a choice of rooms, both of them quirky, interesting and comfortable. The breakfast was superb. A truly delightful experience of wonderful Greek hospitality.

When we came from our hotel at Gallipoli, we did not think that stay could be bettered... however, Chrisoula helped make this one of the best stays we have had.
We came to hold a small ceremony for our grandfather who fought here in the war with the British SOE's. Chrisoula helped find some of the local people who fought with our grandfather, and we have made a couple of good friends (Thanks Nick!!).
The rooms here are simple but lovely, and the breakfast is probably the best I have had. All of the jams, breads, cakes and other breakfast treats were home made... we ate so much we usually did without lunch.
Chrisoula also recommended delightful local restaurants and a guide who took us on a fantastic tour of Delphi (2.5 hours - excellent value for money). She also recommended a souvenir ship in Delphi, where the owner gave us very good prices.
Galaxidi is a beautiful place, and I can't wait to come back to explore more of the area. Now I can understand why our grandfather always said his heart was in Galaxidi.
See you again soon.
