“Only opened on special occasions”
Review of Martinskapelle

Reviewed December 2, 2011

We went by car via the road and climbed the stairs. The chapel is only opened on special occasions (for us it was closed). At the cemetery a beautiful calvary with stations of the way of the cross. 12th Century, the chapel of the old cemetery in Veitshöchheim is one of the oldest churches in the district of Würzburg. By the foundation of the Würzburg Provost Reichard the old chapel could be renewed, 1591 consecrated. 1975-1978 Renovation with the help of private initiative. The wing altar shows in the Middle a relief of the Holy Trinity on the wings of Mary and John. Exterior St Maarten and St Kilian. The founder himself is depicted kneeling and praying before a cross. The Chapel is only opened during special occasions.
