“Lovely hotel in beautiful village”
Reviewed June 8, 2013

Spent two nights here while touring France. Great hotel with very nice restaurant - food and service were very good. The village of Beze is very pleasant to walk around of and afternoon/evening. Close enough to Dijon - we used the park and ride. Dijon itself was very disappointing.

Le Bourguignon is a lovely warm and friendly Auberge with comfortable refurbished rooms at very reasonable prices and a super restaurant. Friendly staff and owners, always with a smile.
Near Dijon, it is almost half way from Méribel & The French Alps to Calais, so a great stop over for the British driving home.

Room Tip: any of the newly refurbished ones

We used this hotel as a stopover from London to the Alps. Five hours drive from Calais so we arrived just after 5pm.
We got a good welcome from the staff and whilst our room was a tad 'compact' it was warm, clean, well decorated; the shower was hot - what else do you need?
Plenty of locals in the bar who also gave us a good welcome.
Evening meal was good but nothing out of the ordinary and with the meal for two coming in at well over Euro 120 we came away disappointed. Most of the covers (14?) came from people like us breaking the journey to the Alps from Belgium, Holland and us from the the UK so id didn't look as though there was much local patronage despite it being a Saturday night.
Perhaps they'd do better doing simpler food really well with prices to match rather than trying to offer more up-market 'gourmand' cuisine and not making the grade?
Would we stay here again? No, because there are others to look at but we'd still recommend this place for the hotel if not its restaurant.
Finally, the village is one of the 700 most beautiful in France. Well worth walking around in the daylight.

Beze is just short of Dijon coming from the UK by car. Apart from being a charming little town with the bubbling up of the source of the river that is the reason for the town, its location makes it extremely convenient for a stopover if you are going skiing, wandering around the Alps or on your way to the South of France. The patron owned and run 2* hotel is very reasonable for a fully modernised room with plenty of parking and garage parking if required (needs to be booked!). The main selling point for this hotel is its restaurant. The food is exceptional and there is an excellent cellar! The price is totally acceptable. Easily booked via booking.com, hotels.com etc. The owners do not speak English but they are friendly enough not to make that a problem if you do not speak French. Remember this is a 2* provincial family hotel - a logis!

Room Tip: If you are noise sensitive like me, you might not want a front room as the lorries do sometimes come...

We have just completed our secnod visit to this lovely hotel in a beautiful village. We found it through recommendation from a disabled traveller and it made a great change from the usual chain hotels by the autoroute on ur journey south. Good handicapped accessible room, friendly staff and excellent restaurant. Good value rooms means a good blow out in the restaurant doesn't overdo the budget. Great French food in lovely restaurant in unhurried style.

Room Tip: Room 101 is the best handicapped accssible room. Wet room shower with seat, higher toilet with grab...

We found this hotel on Trip Advisor whilst travelling back towards Paris from Haute Provence. It is only 20km off the motorway near to Dijon and well worth the little detour rather than going in to city for the night. Beautiful countryside and village. Very quiet peaceful nights sleep. The rooms are a lttle on the cosy side but well worth the money. Very good value and a good breakfast in the morning. We ate in the hotel restaurant at night. Again very good value for money. The menu was extensive. There was pleny on the plate and the quality was outstanding. The rooms were clean and the staff very smiley and pleasant. Would highly recomend this hotel to anyone planning a stop over near to Dijon. Excellant value for monay and would stay here again.

We stopped overnight en route to southern Burgundy.

The hotel was comfortable - exactly what you'd expect from a 2* provincial french hotel. No frills but comfortable enough.

Dinner was exceptional - excellent service, very welcoming, family-friendly and great food of the sort that used to be ubiquitous in rural France but is now more difficult to find. Well-priced for the quality as well.

Beze is a beautiful village well worth exploring.

All in all a great stopover in a very friendly spot.
