“most enjoyable restaurant”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

Had 2 very nice evenings here. Menus have great choices & are very good value, you will need a good appetite, lookout for the regional desert on Breton menu it will take your breath away. Staff are friendly & do everything they can to assist with the menu whatever language you speak.
Will certainly go back if in the area again.

We found ourselves stranded in the Roscoff area and made it to ST POL DE LEON where this wonderful woman took us in
and welcomed us to the hotel. We were travelling with two dogs who were also made very welcome. The Hotel was very central and in a good location for exploring the town. There was a festival on that night so we were delighted to be accomodated. The room was perfect for our needs, clean, fresh and welcoming. The outstanding feature of the hotel was the friendliness of the lady on reception. She took us under her wing and looked after us exceptionally well. We would be delighted to return for a longer stay at another time.

Arrived about 17.00 on a Monday afternoon, no response from reception so we rang the number that had been left. The phone was answered and soemone promised to be with us in 10mins to book us in. We waited inthe street for about half an hour gave up and went elsewhere.

We went back in the evening for an excellent dinner.

Cycling through France with my father, we had stayed in a number of good hotels throughout the trip, with Passiflore being the last, and in our opinion, the best ! We arrived on a sunday ( never a good day to find open places in France) Nevertheless the manager promptly came out and made us feel welcome, not before recommending several nearby restaurants as the hotel's was closed that night ( not an issue in St Pol as there are PLENTY to choose from)

The room was ideal and matched a 2 star rating, it was clean, comfy, with nice bathroom facilities. The restaurant, which opened the following day, was very tasty, reasonably priced and along with it came good, friendly service ! English was spoken, which is always a plus if your high school French is getting rusty ! Breakfast, was very tasty (not quite sure what the review below is referring to) as our breakfast contained a very tasty selection of Croissants, pastries, pancakes, cereals and traditional Gateau with a choice of several juices !

All in all, very nice stay, lovely part of France with such convenient access to Roscoff port! And despite this review being written by two shattered cyclists, it really is a perfect hotel for anyone staying in Brittany. Merci Bien ! Stayed in early - to mid september

We booked into the hotel as we were staying in the area on a Sunday night in mid September.
The web site showed reassuring photographs of the restaurant and it was open 19.00-21.00 in September - which we presumed must be part of the high season.

How wrong we were; we arrived at about 15.30 to find the hotel was closed - although there was a sign in the window indication that reception opening times were from 15.00 on Sundays. We went away and returned at 18.00 - hotel was still unoccupied and locked- but there was a hand written note that we should ring a mobile number to get the key pad number to get in and get to our room. At the second attempt we made contact and got in to the apparently completely empty building.

There was no restaurant opening that evening; and we saw no one until we heard a noise and found another couple from England who had the same problems - only they did not have a mobile phone and had even more difficulty getting in.

We saw no one in reception, and the bar and restaurant remained locked till the following morning. So no restaurant even though in mid September.

Do not believe the statement of a "gourmet breakfast" either; croissants were OK, there were a few cereals but no cold milk, two halves of a stale baguette was offered - a criminal offence in French restaurants surely - and the orange juice was very weak flavoured - and this for €8.50.

The service was distant, the waitress spent her time chatting to someone else in the adjacent bar, and we had to go and find her when we wanted anything. The coffee was OK though!

As for the room that was made available to us, it was slightly tired but clean; the television had only free French channels - no Canal + for example.

When I can to pay the bill approximately €95 for a room for two and four breakfasts - nobody except a waitress was available and she made no apology for the problems.

My recommendation - for a two star hotel in the area go to the Ibis in Roscoff - at least there will be some one there to communicate with, the breakfast are much better and they have multi channel television and for us it would have been cheaper!

Room Tip: Go somewhere else especially if you are arriving on a Sunday.

The room was called 'de luxe' but was small and minimalist. €56 for B&B. It faced the street and without air conditioning we left the window open, this let in fresh air mingled with traffic noise. Dinner was also €56, mediocre and why use tinned French beans in France? The service was friendly and the hotel handy for the Roscoff ferry but next time we will try another one.

We walked the short distance into the town and a band was playing traditional music with Celtic dancing. That was nice. Our car was locked in the car park. Remember to get the lock combination if you are catching an early ferry as the place in unmanned at night.
