Lovely peaceful location. Not so good for small children etc (unless you hire a car) as it is quite a walk to any bars/ shops/ beach etc. We used it as a base and drove all over the island.
The pool area is very nice with views across the nature reserve and out to sea, (on a clear day you can see Mallorca) and is kept clean, and the bar service was adequate.
Unfortunately the villas/apartments were not so clean!
We had no maid service other than to leave clean towels, once in midweek, but they cleaned nothing, and we had to take all our own rubbish to the bins up the street. We had to request new toilet rolls (repeatedly -as none were brought at first request) Actually we never saw a maid or cleaner all week!
The apartments were supposedly cleaned before we went in them but we found cute little faces drawn on the mirrors by previous inhabitants, and clumps of dust under the beds. When we walked barefoot on the tiled floor we got black feet! The worst bit was that when we opened up any cupboard or wardrobe it smelled of a damp mildewey fusty smell. (our clothes began to smell that way..thank heaven for perfumes) The furniture was very 'tired' and poor quality, and the bedding and curtains were all faded, shabby and mismatched - some with stains and holes in them.
The staff were very friendly and the location of these apartments is good. With some tidying up they could be really wonderful, ....but....
I would not agree with the three star rating that the apartments have. The facilities ARE there as described, but the place is far too run down to be classed as three star!
We had a lovely holiday. The island is very beautiful. Wonderful beaches, good food and wines and the people were very, very friendly ( and usually tolerant of my attempts to speak Spanish!). I would not hesitate to go back to Menorca...but not to Albaida apartments!
