Me and my husband and son stayed at this hotel and during july all inc the hotel could have been cleaned more thourough around the pool area i don,t know how people can even rate it for drinks the barman does agood job however he only wants to know and remember your name to make tips as they always do in all inc overall i thought the service was very slow and was quicker going to the supermarket for drinks as they were all overgased and the lime they put in soda was just pure colour no taste .however ido prefer to eat out anyway and i probably payed less for this hotel than i normally would if iwas going bed and breakfast as i say you only get what you pay for and could not recomend this hotel to anyone the only good thing was about the people we met as it was agood crowd in hotel and my son made lots of friends however i do not think i would return to zante to many mossies in hotel.

I stayed at Diana Palace with my husband (both in our 30s), beginning of August for 11 nights.

When we arrived early morning, we were very tired after a delayed flight full of drunken yobs going to Laganas! As soon as we entered the hotel, we were welcomed with very cheerful reception staff and a waitress waiting with refreshments for us. We paid 5 euros per day for our air con and 30 euros for our safety deposit box for the 11 nights (box in wardrobe, key operated).

Our room had a double bed with mosquitto netting, a fully stocked fridge (which you pay for if you drink its contents even if you're all inc!). I liked the fact the hair dryer was in the bedroom next to the dressing tabel, rather than in the bathroom. Our balcony was facing the pool, but wasnt too noisy. We had a decent size bathroom with bath & shower. The maid came every day around 10am. Some mornings we hung the do not disturb sign up and she hung around till we were up. We thanked her at the end with a nice tip.

The pool isnt too cold..its perfect. We did not have to get up early to secure a sunlounger like most hotels this time of year. Sometimes we wouldnt go to the pool till 12 and there were always beds available. There are mattresses for the sunloungers, but only some! We found people were getting up early for these!

The pool barman, Stathis, is so friendly. He remembered our names throughout the holiday and was always more than happy to help me with my Greek. The restaurant staff are also very nice, as is the evening barman located up near reception.

The restaurant food was nice, although some idiot was complaining there wasnt chips on the menu everyday!! You help yourself to soft drinks and wine. The beer is on tap to help yourself as well (only in the restaurabt). The snack bar is available from around 3:30, but isnt what you'd expect. They put some sandwiches, bruschetta, pitta bread, dips and cakes on a table near the pool bar and once its gone, its gone.

Entertainment wise, there isnt really much considering its an All Inclusive hotel. There is something roughly 3 times a week. On Monday nights they have Greek dancers, which is fun. They also have bingo and a quiz. I left some feedback at reception (they put a feedback leaflet under your door on your last day) saying there could be more for the kids.

Argassi itself is lovely! Wasnt too busy, but staff at bars told us it was dead this year. If you like your karaoke, then go to Legends bar. The dj here is called Ginge, he's also the local Argassi radio dj during the day. Theres a bar which sits at the bottom of the road when you come out of the hotel, called the magic mushroom. This is a great place to sit upstairs and people watch.

Argassi beach isnt the great. Theres a free coach that takes you to St Nikolas beach every day at 10:30am and takes you home at 5pm. You can get this coach outside Alexandras excursion shop and also Peters. Its best to get it outside Alexandras (turn right out of main hotel entrance and its a few shops down on same side), as it goes to Peters after this and can be hard to get a seat! Once at the beach, you follow the crowd to a designated area and its 8 euros for 2 beds plus an umbrella. You'll be given a ticket once you pay for your beds, and this gets you back on the coach.

If you're looking to dine out, then I recommend Castaways rooftop restaurant across from main entrance of hotel (best chicken stir fry!!!) and Athena restaurant across the road from magic Mushroom, down the lane towards the beach. Try the stffed Mussells as a starter...yummy!

We booked a boat trip through Peters (turn right at back exit of hotel) for 16 euros each. This got us our coach ride to harbour, we then got on boat which took us to shipwrecked island and blue caves. Shipwrecked island is beautiful, but take shoes that you can wear in water. When you get off the boat, you need to walk in the shallow water but its very pebbly and sore on your feet! Theres a snack bar on the boat with plenty of sandwiches, burgers, drinks etc. This was from 9am till 1630.

Theres also a little toursit train that takes you into Zante town for 5 euros each way. In the evening it leaves at 1930 and picks you up at 2230. Zante town is lovely at night with some great restaurants.

Would definately go back to Diana Palace. Its well situated, food nice and staff lovely too. You'd be very hard to please if you were disappointed.

this hotel was absoloutely amazing. the people the area which it was located was amazing i totaly recomed this to anybody. the rooms are a little on the basic side but thats greece for you :) i would go back to this hotel time and time again. i would deffinetly get airconditioning which isnt much for the week because in june when we went it reached an amazing 50 degreese!!!!! suncream needed haha! so aircon is a definate must. i recomend to all ages as there is so much around foreveryone. the night life was brilliant lots of bars and clubs around and if argassi nightlife dont live uip to your expectations take a trip to laganas not far away more for 18 - 30s there tho. beach is close and very nice. and a trip to smugglers cove is a total must! totaly amazing. the hotel has a bar and is open till the last leave a snack bar and also has a huge swimming pool and a very mini gold and gym haha. but when we we there all inclusive was not but half board was an option. and i loved it that much im going back next year.

When we arrived we were welcomed with champagne and juice. The receptionists are very kind and help you out on alot of things - you can book trips and things like that. The maids do a very good job of cleaning the rooms and the overall hotel is very clean. The barman by the pool is very friendly and remembers your order and makes an excellent shandy. The food is very good and is varied for most peoples likings. The pool is very clean and there are plenty of sunbeds. The pool gets deep very quickly, but for the younger ones there is a smaller pool. I am looking forward to going back next year!!!

Second time of staying at the DP hotel stayed in 2008 after mix up with rooms, which took 24 hours to resolve we had a good size room at the back of the hotel which was a good thing, very quiet at night, food was not that good, but ok. Staff were very good and every complaint we made was dealt with quickly. But still enjoyed the location.

July 2009 we returned, I had asked for room at the back of hotel when we booked based on the noise levels at night. On arrival was given room 101 (was that an omen) directly behind the reception, patio doors to the balcony which was 6 feet from main road, directly opposite a night club and next door to a 24/7 food bar, we thought it would be a nightmare and considered asking for a change of room before unpacking, But we heard two other guests asking for change of room being told nothing available for another day. Our room was large and suited us so we thought we would give it a chance. The club opposite was closed for the week so that was good, when patio doors were closed minimal noise could be heard, Sitting on the balcony in the evening was entertaining watching the world go by. The only bad point was Karaoke night in the hotel 10 - 12. After 1 hour of tone deaf renditions of songs unrecognizable, I went to reception asked if any chance of less volume. My request was met and a slight decrease for the last hour made it bearable. Food this year had improved and on the whole gave good choice and tasty, although breakfast saw jelly and mousse as a choice. All inclusive was on offer but we chose HB based on the fact the previous year we were out everyday on trips and the food was not that good .I would recommend all inc now if you have got kids as drinks are expensive 2.20 euro for coke 3.50 for a beer and the food is now reasonable.
Beach is rocky and shingle, 50 euro for 15 mins Jet Ski, very expensive compared to other places. Recommend 10 euro taxi to Kalamaki beach, really good for kids cheap water sports and sun beds, you can eat at the beach hotel very reasonable prices.
All in all good holiday even may even consider a third year

The hotel "Diana Palace" is located in the center of Argassi, don't on the beach, but it is better. The beach is located in 3 minutes from hotel.
The sea is very quiet. The coast is shallow, sandy – ideal for kinder. 2 sun beds & sunshade cost 6 euro on the sand and FREE on the grass.

Hotel is very cozy (look at photo). The room is spacious, about double: two beds combined, sofa, dressing table, fitted cupboard, TV-set (about 20 channels, but don't Russian channel), air-conditioner, (hair-)drier, phone, a well-appointed bathroom. Bed linen are changed every day, bath towels are changed every other day.
We had all inclusive: breakfast, dinner, supper, snack time, tea time, all drinks of the local production.

The dinner & supper are very tasty, especially the various meat.

About spare time: the hotel is organized the actions the 3 times of the week: Greek-evening, karaoke, bingo

We liked Greek music. Very beautiful song is “AGAPA ME”!

Staffs of this hotel are very friendly, prepared for help.

We are pleased with our rest in the hotel “Diana Palace”.

Thank: Katerina & Dora (reception); Stathis & Daniel (barmen from the snack bar); barmen in main bar; Kostas (manager); Giorgio, Kuka & girl (I’m sorry, I don’t know her name) - waiters in the restaurant; chef cook!

Me and my wife Stayed at the Diana Palace for one week between the 18th and 25th of June. We were told that until very recently this hotel was not all inclusive and has only just started to offer this service. I have listed the main good and bad points.

The bad points for us were;
All drinks should be included in the price you pay, but if you order a cocktail then you have to pay for it, since the shorts and soft drinks are all included in the price why do you have to pay extra just to have them mixed?
All drinks have to be paid for after 11pm.
The entertainment was very basic, Karaoke, Greek dancing and bingo and quiz night. Unless you wish to go to the bars outside there is no entertainment apart from the three mentioned.
Food very varied but in the main pretty bland and tasetless.

The good points were;
Staff very friendly and helpful, especially Stathis and Danny at the pool bar.
Hotel kept very clean and tidy.
Rooms clean and well maintained.
Plenty of loungers around the pool but only a limited supply of matresses were available.

We did not have a bad holiday but this is not a Hotel we wuld return to.

For those about to visit the Diana Palace please don't be put off by any negative comments, including the ones above, as I am sure they can only improve through trial and error.
